Re: X-box 360
So, I finally broke down and bought myself a next-gen console. 360 won out.
Getting the pro console for £180 plus special offers mean I get Halo 3 for £10 and GTA IV for £20. Now I just have to choose a couple other games and I'm all set. I have a list of 17 that I want heh. |

Re: X-box 360
CoD4 can wait, too much at the moment.
There we go, all the orders have been placed. Xbox 360 pro + extra wired controller (I prefer wired anyway) + GTA IV + Halo 3 + Blue Dragon + Top Spin 3 + Assassin's Creed collectors Edition. 3 vouchers used (one for GTA IV, one for Halo 3, one for Blue Dragon) Total: £300. Not bad really seeing as how Xbox Pro + Rock band is £320. |

I lost all respect for you until I read that you used a voucher to get Halo 3

Telvanni - Yeah, I plan on having fun with it. The collector's edition was only an extra £2 (£20) so I thought "why not". Apart from Top Spin 3, all those games are on sale or have an offer of some sort. |

Re: X-box 360
So, guess I can give a little review of what I'm thinking so far.
GTA IV - Really amazing graphics, I think it's pretty fun so far. Halo 3 - Fun enough so far but I'm not used to using a controller with such sensitive movement (even at 1). I guess I'm more used to a mouse and keyboard and how precise they are. Blue Dragon - Nice graphics, I like the "DBZ / Dragon Quest" look. Looks like a decent amount of customisation to keep me going. Top Spin 3 - Seems a bit "soulless" but is still a fun game to play in bursts of 30 minutes or so, just a couple of games at a time. Assassin's Creed - The story was not what I was expecting at all. Nice surprise. Controls take me a bit of getting used to (again, too much mouse and keyboard + PS2 handles differently) but I'm getting there. I also bought two more games. Eternal Sonata - Beautiful game, and the music has captivated me. I think I'll really enjoy this. Tony Hawk's Project 8 - Wanted to try another TH game as I haven't played one since THPS4. It's addictive and still very fun. They've added some stuff since THPS4 though that I'm not used to. Like "nail the trick". |

Re: X-box 360
If you ever end up getting any games on the XBLA.
I recommend Geometry Wars and Ikaruga (unless you already have it for GC) |

If you're into another skating game, I'd recommend .skate. Instead of being over-the-top, .skate tries to capture the feeling of being happy over the simpler things. The list of things you can do isn't as massive, but pulling certain tricks off gives you such a great feeling. |

Re: X-box 360
Yes .skate I find to be better then all the Tony Hawk games combined to come out on the 360. So you should get that next.
For XBLA I'd say Mr. Driller and Geometry Wars because they are fun and very addicting. |

Re: X-box 360
Aren't they like going to fix the X-Box because of the "Red Ring of Death"

Re: X-box 360
Microsoft has updated their 360s. I remember reading about it but I don't remember with what. The chance of Red Ringing has gone down significantly. It is why you don't hear it happening as often.

Re: X-box 360
I don't really think Skate would appeal to me. I don't really care for the authentic realism and huge difficulty just to pull off a little trick.
I just want to spend a little time skating around having fun. TH gives me that. |

If you have access to the Marketplace, you could just download the Demo. Hell you could download the demo to pretty much anything.

I don't have access to online stuff yet. I need to buy a wifi usb thing to connect to my wifi setup.
That won't be for a while. |

Re: X-box 360
I apologize if this isn't the best place to ask it, but I recently connected my LAN to my 360 to try to set things up and apparently the tag Afrobean is taken.
Is there any way I can find out who has it so I can track them down and brutally rape them? Alternatively, what would be the best alternative for me that does not involve prefacing it with an adjective or modifier, or tacking on numbers or other things to the end? I almost think Afrombean or AbnerOaf might be the best choice, and that sucks balls. ps wtf one of the suggested tags that it gave me is "UglyAfrobean"... what kind of **** is that

Re: X-box 360
Fable 2 is tempting me into buying a Xbox 360. I'm going to wait though to see if it does what Fear, Half Life, and Oblivian did though and eventually be released for PS3. However I highly doubt that happening with Fable. It seems like an Xbox faithful game like Halo.
