Now Jyris, when you do that real time record mode thing, can you set the steps into quarter note(red) and eighth note(blue) only so that if you go off beat, you don't have to worry about correcting a 64th note step? |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Yes, that's correct. Set the steps to red/blue or whatever, BEFORE you press R to record.
Remember to sync the song first, if the song is not synced, nothing will get recorded. |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Version 1.0 of this editor will be coming out soon (end of the week maybe). It will incorporate many changes that people suggested, and be very polished and stable, and have an ITG noteskin option (made by VirInPro).
This will conclude my "shrine" to the great SM, for now. After that, I'm going to take a very long break from developing this. Of course, I'll still provide tech support. Through the years, I have collected helpful feature requests from many people in the SM/ITG/FFR community. Unfortunately, these features will not be implemented at version 1.0 (run out of time), but if ANYONE who is an excellent windows/directx programmer with a strong understanding of digital audio wants to give these features a try, please contact me, or just post here. 1. Doubles/Couple/Solo support. GUI should have tabs for each game type (e.g., in level manager), and possible loading of any kind of game type thru a game type ini file or the like. 2. up to 48Khz+ audio, non-16-bit, mono support (minor changes to timing code and waveform render code). 3. Spectral View (challenge) 4. Support for Taifunbrowser style "Sync Block" Syntax using the Autofill Dialog. 5. Removal of exact duplicate SM BPM changes before writing to SM File. 6. Averaging of near-duplicate BPM changes into a single change, before writing to SM file (challenge) <--- user-selectable. Due to the nature of digital audio, this feature should not be taken too seriously. 7. Undo/Redo (challenge) 8. More robust support for loading SM files with BPM stops (challenge) 9. 192nd note support (no 128th) 10. Drag and Drop Lyrics on the waveform, separate lyrics view layer 11. OpenGL/Linux/Mac/Flash support 12. Drag and Drop BGChanges on the waveform, BGChanges Layer 13. Artist/Title/Titletranslit support 14. Remove support for the non-*_EX note syntax in the dsx file (saves a lot of lines of source code). 15. Future note types such as rolls, and probably configurable thru an ini file too. |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Is there anyway that recording mode can have all note snaps at the same time instead of just 4ths, 8ths, 16ths etc, one at a time?

If youre on 64th, it'll record all note types up to and including 64ths, and if youre on 48th, same idea. EDIT: This ought to work for you. Last edited by jyris1; 07-10-2007 at 09:14 PM.. |

Coming Soon, New Features from a new contributor (see below)! Thank You!
Auto-detects beats from a noisy waveform!* Yellow (original waveform where you can't see the beats) Pink (Now you can!) *You'll still have to manually place beats, but at least now you know where. |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Ok, every time I click insert beats, it does not do what I want it to do.
For example: I counted how many beats before another BPM change in a sime I am working on, and there were 8 beats. I clicked insert beats, and typed 7. And it be 7 beats between every existing beat that was already on the screen. How do I just select 2 to put it between? |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Ok I just read.. 192nd note support but no 128th? Why not 128th notes? I really need them in this one song I am stepping.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Updated Beginner and Advanced Manuals. Also, if anyone would like to help, please contact me. 1) Tutorials/YouTube Videos 2) website/forums, 3) demo stepfiles, 4) coding/development 5) Anything else you think is useful. Thanks again to everyone who have helped get DDReam to v.1.05. It started off as an experiment but now it is a sophisticated step editor that many people are using.

You can "get" 128th notes by doubling the BPM in that region and using 64th notes, or simply use a 192nd note or 64th note and hope that people dont notice the slight error. Or, maybe the SM 4.0 editor will give you 128th note support. Last edited by jyris1; 09-26-2007 at 09:44 PM.. |
