As a Holy Priest I always found the last boss (the one who casts insanity) a real pain in the ass. Bubble, kite the group, fear, haul ass. Repeat process.

Got Thorim down to 21% on our third attempt before we called it for the night.

He drops four things I need on 10-man, two of which are BIS.

HE MUST DIEEEEEEEEE

We tried Mimiron tonight knowing full well we probably wouldn't kill him.

We didn't kill him. The best we did was up to Phase 3, but too many people were dead.

It's pretty unfair to basically require a DK tank / Pally/Priest healer for Phase 1. I know you don't HAVE to have them but there's no way a shaman+druid heal composition is going to be able to heal through that 120k over 6 seconds. You pretty much need a DI/SW/PS to survive. Our tank, who is really, really good, was forced to blow two cooldowns every time the healers couldn't shield him. If I were healing, we'd've lost. There's nothing I can do to prevent damage. I can't heal 40,000 damage in 6 seconds. I don't know who can, actually. Of course, this is going off right after a Napalm, which means you have two people who must be healed or they will die.

Also tokzy in all honesty I don't see how you can one-shot Hodir and wipe to Thorim non-stop. Thorim is so much easier than Hodir.

Arena: aoe tank in the middle, aoe ranged around the edges. Tell them to watch for lightning and spread out so the hammer doesn't hit everyone. Anyone who can dispel/steal the Evoker's shield needs to do so. Evokers die first, Warbringers second. Interrupt Evokers whenever they cast if you're not using an AOE. Tank holds Champions away from everyone else and single-target DPS goes on them immediately when they spawn.

Gauntlet: Kill healers first, watch fists, take your time, and hurry up. Don't walk in the middle of the hall heading for Thorim--stick to the sides.

Thorim: Tanks taunt off each other when the stack reaches 2 or something (I dunno). Don't stand near the lightning on the ground--does a 90 degree cone (45 degrees on either side of the line).

Oh, that. That's not the last boss. Easiest boss along with the mushroom guy, to me, the vampire/bug/insanity bosses were harder.

I think he's talking about Thorim hard mode.

Then he should've specified that.

And yeah, I'm glad they changed 10-man hard mode weapons to be in-line with 25-man hard mode ilevels, but why does mine have to come from Vezax's hard mode D=

You're SUPPOSED to blow cooldowns for that fight. Many warriors spec into lowered CDs for Last stand and Shield wall + glyphs to keep up with CDs for progression.

It's a CD rotation fight, like sarth 3 drakes. Granted DKs make it easy with their IBF being on a 1min CD, but you can get around it without too much trouble. Figure out what cooldowns you have in the raid that decrease damage taken or stop death (Pain suppression, Guardian spirit, shield wall, pally shield wall, last stand, shield wall, etc) and figure out a rotation.

That's true about warriors. They don't need to have as much hp as a DK to tank this as long as they have the cooldowns to carry them through the entirety of this DoT.

With Shield Wall glyphed and up, you only need to heal 72000 hp over 6 seconds and that can easily be accomplished.

I don't see how the tank can blow his cooldowns four times in 2 minutes.

What if you had one DK tank, two shaman healers, and one druid healer? Do you just kick them out of the party and bring in paladins and priests? What happened to "bring the player"?

PS - even though we do have priests, we have no paladins of any kind. But I'm trying to make a point here. What if your tanks were a DK and a druid and your healers were shaman and druids? You can't win this fight. At all.

We found that our tank using cooldowns first rotation is good, and healers blowing cooldowns second is good. A few of the times we got a third blast, and we just got lucky on those I guess.

Admittedly, we have a DK tank, and healers are Druid, Shaman, and Priest.

What's happening with the second tank? Can't you switch out tanks?

With regards to the hit-starvation.

After like four months, I finally replaced my Utgarde Keep ring with something from a raid. The only +hit ring that doesn't have wasted stats. So now I've got the t8 2pc. It's not a huge DPS upgrade, but it's better than the t7 2 and 4pc combined, so hey.

You're supposed to have two tanks for Mimiron. First tank blows his cooldowns then the second taunts and does his thing.

Because of the slow death of my current guild and my missing friends, my interest is starting to wane in this game. I'm going to try several things.

I'm going to try to join the top raiding guild on my server. I'm really disliking this idea because I don't want to be forced into a guild with what seems to be crazy loot rules and a strict raiding schedule, but it seems from their description that they're somewhat flexible with raid attendance.

If that fails, I'm going to try a server transfer with one of my characters. I can't decide whether or not I want to start with my healer or tank, but I may try it. I'll probably be transferring to Squeek's server if his guild will take me in because I know him better than everyone here and Tokzic plays on the Alliance, so that's not an option for me.

Roll a DK and come to my guild. You'll get the raiding you want, without any of the over-serious fun vacuuming that other guilds tend to have.

Yeah being able to idle to answer the phone or get the door or use the bathroom totally sucks who would want that.

I'd rather be attacked at all times from 10-year olds with nothing better to do than to interrupt my herb-gathering.
