The Unofficial FFR Dictionary
This is the place to look up stuff that might confuse you newbies.
PA=Perfect Average. This is how many perfects you got compared to how many steps are in the song. Also called Perfect Attack. Related acronyms: MA=Marvelous Average/Attack CB=Combo Breaker. This is a step that, well, breaks your combo. This term encompasses goods, boos, and misses, and sometimes NG (no goods, when you don't hold a freeze step all the way). DDR=Dance Dance Revolution. The game that started it all. ITG=In The Groove. An undoubtedly American dance game that is otherwise quite similar to DDR. SM=StepMania. Many people consider this superior to FlashFlashRevolution, but you have to download it. Related acronyms: SMO=StepMania Online FFR=Flash Flash Revolution DWI=Dance With Intensity (NOT "driving while intoxicated" unless mentioned in the Chit Chat forum) Whore=Usually, the act of playing a song over and over trying to achieve a certain goal. Related terms: Speedwhore=someone who likes to set the arrow scroll speed at ridiculously high levels Boowhore=someone who would rather get a few boos than get a CB. It's a valid strategy, though. Bar-raping=in DDR, relying excessively on the provided handrail for support while playing a difficult song Jack=Short for jackhammer, which is where you have to hit the same arrow rapidly, usually for an appreciable amount of time. SDG=Single Digit Great. A term used to describe a score with less than 10 greats. Usually, all the rest are Perfect or Marvelous. Related term: SDP=Single Digit Perfect FC=Full Combo. A score with no CBs. Related term: PC=Perfect (Full) Combo. A FC where every step is a perfect. AAA=Generally used to describe a score that is all Perfect and Marvelous. In reference to FFR, it is often reserved for a score that is all Perfect. Related term: AAAA=All Marvelous...getting the highest possible score. Crossover=the act of using your right foot to hit the left arrow, or vice versa. Also used to describe a series of steps where such a maneuver would be necessary if one were to do it on a pad. Jump=hitting two arrows at the same time, after the necessary maneuver to do so on a pad. Please reply if you have more to add to this skeletal list. Edit: This is going to be harder than I thought it would... :/ |

Wow, awsome idea. Isn't it somewhere else as well though? Maybe i am wrong, just remember seeing something like it before.
Still good thing to have in a newb forum though! I am sure it will be very useful for all newbs. Good job, hopefully people will add stuf, i can't contribute as i can't really think of any but i am sure older members can.

RE: The Unofficial FFR Dictionary
ok, here are some things that i'd like to know
what are jacks? what does c300 mean? is it faster than SM or slower, isn't it the speed that ffr uses? what exactly are secret arrows, and why are they in songs at all? who is tsutter, and why is he in jail? i guess that's all i can think of now

RE: The Unofficial FFR Dictionary
Jacks are the same arrow over and over.
C300 is a scroll rate that FFR uses. There are no such thing as secret arrows, what they are trying to refer to are "glitched" arrows, and we are trying to get rid of them. Tsutter is a user who posted porn, and was promptly banned.

Re: RE: The Unofficial FFR Dictionary
--Index is with indexes, so it is 2 hands, 2 fingers.
--Some do it about the same way, but with one hand with the Index and Middle, for 1 hand - 2F --Standard game players on the computer use the 1 hand - 3F, because they are alread used to it. --3-1/1-3 is someone who liked the standard game way but wanted to supplement it with a fourth finger from the other hand. This finger is usually one either the down arrow, or the left arrow. --4F Traditional is the most common 4 finger method, where the first 2 fingers on each hand are lined up the same way the arrows on the screen are. --4F Crossover is a spinoff method from Traditional players who instead wanted one hand to be the X axes as Left and Right, and the other hand as the Y axes as Up and Down. That is my documentation for CrossOver: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...&p=73481#73481 |

Man am I a whore! Long ago, I played Tsugaru Applemix until i could beat it. It took two days of playing with very little breaktime, but it was the first 9-footer i did.
May i suggest adding Bar Whore (people who overuse the bar in arcades)? |

4Finger Traditional can also include/be called Spread.
Also, a song is still a AAA if you get boos.

Why would you play like that Cen? You could have just chose to play on the numpad alone or a combination of the numpad and arrow keys...
And a AAA is without boos, moron. You can say "i AAAd it, but got boos" implying that you got 0 goods/avgs/misses, but got a boo(s). |
