Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Thanks. Next up is probably a random note generator.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
if you can make it so it generates a single column of 4ths/8ths/16ths/12ths depending on what you want that would be very awesome. it would save a lot of time

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
A random note generator isn't useful.. keyword = random
I could hit ctrl + R in SM and get the same effect >.> |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
actually yeah probably don't have a random note generator. at least when people place down streams with no pattern in mind they'll still be biased towards certain configuration, a completely random pattern conveys no information about the underlying music or the stepper behind it
you could make like stepmania and make it possible to left/right/mirror/shuffle/sshuffle a selection. that means the option is there but it's not as immediately encouraged

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
maybe I should have expected the potential opposition to a random note generator given that a lot of the good steppers dont believe in it.
I dont encourage people to use it for "actual stepping," but I think the feature should be there so that some time can be saved (you dont have to spend time making the stream of notes and then go super shuffle/quantize for example). A few aspects that I didnt mention last time were that (1) the generator will not double-step (is that the right term) and, (2) you can select the arrows you want randomized (so if you only want one or two columns you can do that) and (3) selectable quantization. Using this, people can get a **general** sense of sync and rhythm without spending too much time with it. For people who abuse this feature, the program ought to disable saves, or write in the metadata that "the random note generator was used"

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
This will definitely make it easier to make simfiles. I hated how you had to use arrow keys and enter to move around on the Step Mania editor... >.<
Thanks alot! |

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Whenever I hit B, and ddream is open, it gives me an error message even when i'm in another program like internet explorer or aim or msn and it takes me to the ddream screen informing me of the error to which i must say ok. I was wondering if you come back to this thread if you can fix that.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
I don't mean to resurrect this or anything (not sure if this would be considered that since it's stickied anyway), but I was looking to start making some stepfiles for FFR/Stepmania/etc. This looks like it'd be extremely useful, particularly since the songs I'm working with have odd BPMs that change constantly. Anyway, I'd still like to use this program, does anyone know where I can find it because the link now doesn't work.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
make him come back so he can fix 'can't say b' and alias changing the rate to something that doesn't make ddream crash b/c I flipped my screen sideways
then I'll be happy forever

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
i would also love it so that when you add holds, it doesn't overlap with other holds but rather connect like it does on 3.9/3.95/4.0/sm-ssc etc
Also what Patashu said lol

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Also, not related to topic, but where would I submit finished stepfiles I've done? I can't find a location for them anywhere.
