Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
You can also grow on the fly. Same 3 variations above, but don't hit G. Just ctrl+MWHEEL. It's supposed to be a flexible sculpting system... I dont think this is in the tutorial either.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Ahh yes I forgot about that specific grow tool. In fact, that's exactly what jimerax and I were talking about. Just select the beats you want grown to and then put in the desired BPM.
I suppose I could do a few videos, but I'll just end up being lazy and not getting any done.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
You ought to have a selection of non-constant bpm songs on the site that have been synced with ddream.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Yeah, sounds good. I'm not that good at making simfiles though, as evidenced by the demo files already up there. Of course, if people have such songs, and the songs are legal, then I'll put them up
BTW, if I remember correctly, all the songs on the demo site are non-constant BPM. Even the ones that sound constant are actually not.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
1.50 beta 1 released.
If you manually change the arrow size, the arrow size stays that way when you zoom. Operation: Ctrl+Left/Right to set arrow size manually ("M" indicator pops up on the status bar). When in (M) mode, the arrow size stays the same when you zoom. Keep pressing Ctrl+Left/Right to cycle through manual sizes and finally go to Auto (A) mode, which automatically changes the arrow size according to the zoom level. Or, you can use the View->Note Size menu.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
another thing that I think would be awesome if you had an option to turn off the way the receptors gradually go down the screen when the song is playing. like you can start a song with the receptors at the top and by the end of the song the receptors are at the very bottom x.x
it probably doesn't bother most people but it annoys me. especially when I have to keep playing a certain section

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Tools-> Optons, uncheck "Enable scrolling cursor effect during playback"
The receptors slowly scroll back to the "last known clicked position." If you dont want the receptors to ever move, dont click anywhere in the waveform, even when drawing a window. Instead, when you draw the window, start drawing OUTSIDE the waveform area and work your way in. Furthermore, if you want to select beats, you dont even have to draw a big window, just draw a skinny window outside the waveform.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Version 1.50 BETA 2, featuring:
+ Grid Lines (Tools->Grid Lines) or Shift+Tab to toggle. This will display light white lines. Useful if you edit with beats disabled. The grid lines also display the current BPM of the beat on the left, and the current time on the right (seconds, beats, or sample time). + Much improved mouse action when selecting. If you are in stepping mode, drawing a window will not make the receptors jump to that location and mess up the selection. Also, you can drag the receptors to any part of the screen. Finally, the selected arrows have a faint border for better visibility, and the selection window is better designed to catch the arrows that it touches. + Working "Go to" function. Press Ctrl+G and type in a time to jump to that location.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Hope you like it The mouse action on this version in my opinion is so much better (cleaner, less annoying, efficient, etc) than any other version.

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Is the noteskin stuck with that metallic-looking skin? I'd rather just have regular note like in the official version.
Oh and here's something. For when you are testing the file and you hit a freeze, you can barely even see if you hit it or not, because the light that illuminates the receptor is faint and on top of the hold. Is there a way to make it more noticeable, or even as if it were in SM where the freezes gets cut off at the receptors?

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
It's not stuck with metallic, you can do the regular noteskin by going tools->options, then uncheck "enhanced noteskin."
I personally like the metallic noteskin, but this is not the first comment I've had about the noteskin. Should the standard noteskin be the default?? I'm not sure I understand the thing about the freezes....

Re: DDReam Studio - a revolutionary way to sync/step simfiles
Do you think you could have notes flash as they pass over the targets? Should be brief, like +/- 10 milliseconds or less so long as it's equally distributed on both sides

OK, I'll let the screenshot do most of the talking this time:
(screenshot - support rolls and lifts) Main website has the details.
