New Ideas for Credits?
This isn't moreso me giving ideas. This is me asking them. I heard the mentioning of the old jackpot system, and this got me thinking. We don't have many ways to use credits anymore, and for veterans, it has almost no use.
Currently this is what I know we
So, what suggestions are out there related to credits?

This is a question that's been posed many times (part of why prochat color came to be)
I'm wondering if maybe the question should be if we should reduce the number of credits obtained while playing. |

I don't see how the reduction of credits discourages new players, especially if everything revolving around credits is scaled down. The point here is that because credits have no point aside from being used to unlock songs/release secret songs, having huge amounts of them literally serves no purpose. Additionally, if a new purpose for obtaining credits does come around, the huge amount of credits hanging out there will make the unlock process for anything new completely useless.
There's a reason why FFR has tried time and time again to create credit sinks, like the gambling hall (taking a small percentage of every bet), or the profile chat shop with name color changes, etc. This is where expansion of the game could help a bit - there were talks in the past of having custom themes - that could be a great way to sink credits (and even "pay" artists who create them). Custom noteskins? Yet another thing. There was even talk in the past about having "stock profiles" that users can buy as well. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 07-3-2016 at 12:31 PM.. |

I think you should get more credits for improving + being accurate on songs that are harder than your avg.
For example lets say your best is a SDG on a level 50 song, if you get a SDG on a level 51 song, you should get something like 250 credits, or 500 credits. Obviously it would scale, if your best song is a 7, obviously you would only get like 50 credits for SDGing a 8. It would encourage newer players to play accurately, which is the way things seem to be going regarding FF with the new ranking system. You all underestimate how much new players need credits.. of course the veterans with 40bil grand total have millions of credits, but people like me who barely have 30k credits and need 120k more to get all the secret songs.. welp, its a long road. Regarding uses for credits, you should offer more profile customization and such for credits. Just an example, I would love to have a SDG bar on my profile or something, with the tracking im sure its possible.. why not make it so people need to buy it to use it? Just general things regarding profile customization would be cool. |

I can see it now. Dev team comes out with new ways to spend credits that have been talked about for months and xeno takes credit for making this revolutionary thread that finally got us all thinking about this issue that nobody had thought of before.
@psychoangel, I dont think reducing credits earned in-game is a solution since you really don't earn that many in the first place. The problem comes from only having one or two places to spend them.

i think a cool idea for credits would be to buy custom song packs, like how you can have custom engines... except having official custom song packs that you can release, maybe for a huge amount of credits considering some songs cost 50,000 credits.
