Dude, Mike Mangini is a world recorder holder with a variety of technical and speed masteries. This drum solo is fantastic.

Are you ****ing kidding? Did you notice the one handed roll fills he does? This guy has incredible independance of his limbs. And if he plays for Steve Vai, he's definitely a good musician, no questions asked.

No, they're not, because they don't have any experience playing the drums.

The stuff he is doing is so technical and difficult, its just mindblowing. It is so hard for me just to do 180BPM+ double bass, and he was doing ****ing bass rolls.

And oh my god buzz rolls with one hand.

This is most definitely one of the best drum solos I've ever seen, GREAT find Rubix.

Awhh. I was hoping for some Steve Vai. (N)
But yes, I formed an opinion, I admit I know nothing at all about drumming but is fxcking boring.

Nice technique, where's the musicianship?

Great thing to like, add on to a DVD for a concert show, but not really good for actually playing at a live show people paid for.

I don't understand if people actually enjoy this musically, but I do have to say he is skilled.

He has some good fills going on here. Look up kai hahto or jade simonneto for more amazing drumming.

EDIT:This guy unnatural at executing polyrythms wow.

Man, Flo Mournier is far more impressive than this guy.

Also, Buddy Rich shadows over them all. bye

The whole notion of how relxaed he is is quite impressive.

I can listen to drum beats all day long.

I think Rubix only found this because of that other thread where he was proving something about humanly possible jacks.

ITT it's the same how guitarists can show off a new solo in between songs a drummer can do the same.

P.S. Vai kicks ass, which means anyone that plays with him kicks ass.

Actually I've always been a fan of Mangini -- I was just reminded of him during that thread and went to bring him up.

That piece isn't the best "musically," but that really isn't the point -- I linked it primarily because of the technical skills he shows. Personally I think it sounds fine.

Agreed with Spinal. First related video is Mike pulling off 1203 drumbeats in 60 seconds, which is the same vid Rubix linked to when proving some random ODI guy was using double setup.

I guess it's only impressive if you actually know how to play drums and can appreciate that kind of technical ability. :/
