Zeta that temp. rainbow flag on j'ai was both beautiful and painful at the same time. Looks totally doable for you, keep at it! And that Rave 7... SDG in no time.
Very nice Frederic! |

70th Expert AAA!!!
Also, it's probably just me, but the part of the song in the last 100 notes reminds me of a song from the game Einhander.

Speaking of Fighter X...improvement from 11-0-0-4, two of the goods were bullshit because I lagged on a jump. So proud that I nailed everything after the big stream.

I was actually legitimately D5 starting this tournament, 66 highest AA, Most of my 70s+ are/were teens with a few SDGs. Low 80 around 20-40g depending on patterns. Everything else 40-100. Those were "try hard" scores for me, I didn't ever sit down and do 50+ restarts, but I would come back to ones that needed improving usually. I've been playing on and off for almost 10 years, I don't focus AAA ANYTHING (easily read from my stats). The hardest I've ever worked for an AAA was probably Rocket Flight. On the other hand I've always enjoyed fast files, my warm-up for most of the pre-tournament leadup was something like Unicron Barbeque, Twister/DR1 on 1.3+, Crow's Ghost, etc. Nowhere near AAA on any of those First round of tournament starts, I realize I'm in for it now. I can't AAA jack shiet so I go into overtime. I normally only play from the internet cafe because my scores from home SUCK. (more on that later) but I start trying to play more from home as well. Start of the Rivalry thread, I was late to the party ended up entering the first round in the last two hours or something. I snipe a kirby ANTI-RES score out from other people. But Cedo and Yosh still looking really strong. Now I have some goals to achieve. ---- Made it through to round 2, my goal at this point is to try for at least 4. That would be a somewhat decent first official I guess. --- The snap: At this point I've burned out q/w/a/s/z/x/`/1/2/3 and */-/8/9/5/6/2/3/0/. on my Black Widow ultimate from playing at home. The keyboard is still great for normal games, but those keys now have about a ~1/250 double activation (probably because it wore down the cherry mx blues) Getting desperate to have more game time in, I break down and buy 2 k120s Initially big problems with the flat keys, I decide its worth working on to get an extra 5 days out of the week. Requiem nearly undoes me, Sightread 33-x-x-x FFRMania is leaked, new hard files to work on my speed sans rates. Torture my hands as hard as I can ever day First FFRmania Score Dump --- I've reached my goal to Round 4, Its all gravy from here. But just over the hill I can see the top 16 and my chance at Fractured Sunshine, Being a token whore at heart I put extra effort into making sure I get that far. --- DR R5, AAA or DIE --- R6 starts off with a bang. Tiebreaker (no pressure) Bmah file (maybe some pressure) for top 8 (oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck) --- R7 the final frontier Still in the thick of it as I type this. Klimt and Jose set a really damn high bar for me this round. Now heres an interesting fact, this ENTIRE TIME I've been playing from Chrome. I always did from the cafe because I didn't have access to the desktop for standalone. And it honestly didn't seem like I needed it anyways, and since it was working from the cafe I assumed it was working at home too. I actually thought I was better off at home because the cafe would have minor framerate spikes occasionally. Well it turns out when I decided to try the standalone at home to see if it would improve those scores a little, it nearly fixed every problem I was having in the first place. A ton of what I had attributed to random derpiness/9.4 years worth of bad habits was actually trouble adjusting to the framerate/input latency issues that had gone unnoticed (as there was no bar for comparison). So when I got to the Cafe I asked to be put into admin mode so I could try (The owners/staff are good friends and very friendly, so they had no issue) and its fairly obvious what came of that with fridays scores. But today... I think I had an actual boost boost for the first time in a decade. I woke up early around 5am and couldn't get back to sleep (head racing). So I stayed up and did some avatar edits for the christmas thread and just messed around in ffr. But I wanted to get some sleep so I could post some scores today, so around 1pm I crawled into bed and my head was still going wild. had arrows on the brain, managed to fall asleep like that though. When I got up I felt super ready for anything FFR had to throw at me, it was like I've been playing all day in my dreams. I got to the cafe at 5:30/6pm and absolutely destroyed (as you can see from todays posts) So that has been my journey so far, from the least likely to win D5 who nobody really knew to a possible contender for next years D6 in a matter of weeks. A perfect storm of slow speed training over the years, good rivals to motivate me, and the right circumstances have led to this. Thanks for reading I guess? Hopefully it was somewhat interesting/insightful. Last edited by omega_grunt666; 12-8-2013 at 04:30 AM.. |
