Roller Coaster Tycoon 3: Worth a Graphics Card?
Hey all.
I got Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 for Christmas, and I have a couple questions about it. First of all, I love the original games(RCT1 and 2) and the expansions for them. One the reasons why I like it so much was the graphics. Now, with the change to all 3-d, I am a little skeptical. Are the graphics a problem in this game? On a different note, I have a problem. My computer can't run it because I don't have a good enough graphics card. I wanted to know if Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 is worth the price of a new graphics card. Also, I'd appriciate it if you could tell me more about the game. -Default- |

I hear it's buggy and crappy. Definately not something you'd buy a graphics card for.
But you've got the game and I'm sure it's good for diehard fans. |

If you want to spend $60, you could get one that would run it. For $100, you'd get a decent one.
It all depends what kind of money you have.

On the side of the box it should give the minimum requirements. You can take a look at that and see what's the lowest type of card you'll need to run it and decide if you want it run better with a new card. New games are coming out all the time, ones like Half-Life 2 are using state of the art technology and it's hard to get the full playing experience without using the best equipment. So it's also a good idea to base whether you'll need a new card or not on what other games you'll be playing in the near future.

Wow, I maxed out the graphics with a 128mb.... What kinda crappy graphics card do you have?
The box says a 64mb Radeon is recommended. RECOMMENDED. ~Squeek |

I'm not sure what graphics card I have, Squeek, but I know it is really, REALLY, REALLY bad/old. I'll have to check which kind I have.
Anyway, thanks for the comments everybody. I mainly want to get a new graphics card to play some of the newer online games due to the fact that my Gamecube can't connect to the internet. |

I've heard the game is supposed to be very buggy, but very fun. A lot like RCT 1 and 2. If you were a fan, go read some reviews and decide if you want to pick it up or not.
