A few ideas I have regarding the 'divisions' problem.

Mods.
Speed - Mirror - Effect - Appearance - Dark
Challenge the Gym Leader with any mods you choose, and he/she will have to fight back with those exact mods.
Doing this I believe will cut the chances of having high D5/D6 players destroying everybody.


Another thing---
Gym Badges????????

I don't know if people wanted to swap Gym leaders after defeat, or keep the same gym leaders and receive a lil' badge or something.
And people who have obtained ALL badges earn the right to be called Poke'mon Master. or, a chance to be called one~


just some ideas if this gym thing takes affect.

Definitely swap gym leaders. That is the point of challenging. And as for the mods I think that should apply, although as to whether or not it will keep D5/D6 from winning (if we do only types) I am not so sure.

Leaders do the testing, not the challengers. Gym Leader choose the mods.

I would like to mention that I also have a fairly elegant solution to the "Gym Leader" situation, but unfortunately I have to get going to work and won't have near enough time to explain everything involved. I will however be working on the model once I get home, so hopefully something will be available to preview before I sleep.
