Re: i need to improve!
Just keep playing all the hard songs. Dont play anything ridiculously harder than you can handle though. Then just keep playing it over and over. Eventually, youll learn the pattern and when it comes time for you to hit that pattern again in a different song, youll be able to hit it because your brain can now comprehend it.
PS-Screenshrink and play spread. |

Play those challenging songs you can pass over and over. Especially the ones with a lot of streams (16th notes in rapid succession) and jumps (two simultaneous arrows.)
That should set you up for the long run.

Re: i need to improve!
Move your fingers faster and hit the arrows more accurately.
To accomplish this: Practice. |

Re: i need to improve!
You may not believe me by my rank and my time I have been here, but I'm good. Maybe not that good at FFR, but I'm very good at Stepmania.
What worked for me is that I practiced atleast 1 hour a day, but I usually did it around 5-6 hours a day. What I do is I play songs my skill level, and tried not to play songs I had to mash. In about a month of playing Stepmania on beginner/easy, I moved to expert with ease. After 1 year +, I can now max combo difficult songs I couldn't combo before, like I Am Maid (Expert), Quesar 1.2, but those are easy examples I did a while ago. It's much easier then it seems. |

Re: i need to improve!
I'm rather new here myself, but I've been playing DDR/Beatmania, etc. . . forever. My best advice here for FFR would be mapping different keys instead of using the arrows. Me being a DDR player, I thought I'd fly on the arrows, which I do, but the mechanics that are instilled in your brain from playing that so much don't really work here unless you are more spread out. Especially when you wanna AAA the songs that matter. Theres a thread on mapping different keys too stickied here.
