Default Just an idea i had for a personal preference with gameplay

Well i've only just started playing FFR today, and i realised that i could be using my guitar hero 3 controller with it, does anybody else do this? And do you think i should make a tutorial on how to do this?

Thanks
JBR

I would not advise doing that. :/ For fun, maybe, but for seriousness, no.

Probably near-impossible on the harder songs, but interesting idea.

it's been brought up before. long time ago. probably 2 years ago. for songs with intense jacks, it might be easier to use a guitar, but for stream or jumpstream, you'd be screwed.

i mean... TTFAF is around 200bpm, right? and those are all hammer-ons... and it's still insanely hard. imagine doing that (or faster!) for a lot longer bursts.... with no hammer-ons. then again, maybe you'd be able to code it so that you wouldn't have to strum. in which case, the speedjacking is no longer there.

either way.... it likely is not optimal, or even close to it, to play with a guitar.

but go for it. i've seen people explain how to hook the RB drumkit up to FFR. i've seen people explain about GH guitars. *shrugs*.

Shashakiro is the expert on this, as he's one of the best at the world in both FFR and GH. he'd be able to explain the pros and cons of this better than anyone. I am but decent at both FFR and GH. And I would get DESTROYED at any hard FFR file, trying to do it on guitar.

lol Tass. You could however make it (with the help of AHK or I believe you can do it with AutoIt as well) so you do not have to strum the arrows. Of course this would make it so Jacks are harder to hit (I'm just speculating on this since I am not a pro like my friend Colonel_Monstrosity). Maybe if it were possible to make it so that an AHK script could simulate hammer-ons then it would get rid of the problems that Tass and I mentioned about either of the "strum all the time" or "auto strum at the press of a button" methods. Maybe if there was a way for the script to have a time intervel where if a button is pushed in that time it can simulate the strum instead of having to have the person strum it. For example (this is not in any code language [as you can tell], it is merly an example of what the script might do):
Code:
strum & button pushed
if button is pushed in between 0 to 5 seconds of the last strum then do not strum
or
if button is pushed after 5 seconds from the last strum then require strum
and maybe a little something like (which can help on jacks and on a arrow or arrows that are played multiple times right after each other):

Code:
if button is held down require strum
I'm not really sure about all of this since I never really got into the language that AHK uses and I don't know much about it. For all I know, it might not even be able to handle a script like this if there was one. Sorry if this just seems like senseless spam. I was bored and I just thought I might "vent" some bordom by replying to this in a very complicated fashion.

You could make it so everything is hammer-ons, with the option of strumming. Kind of how like Rock Band solo's work on the higher frets.

I'm not sure if you can do that. It sounds like it would require two different scripts to run at the same time, or if everything is hammer-ons then that would require you to tap a button twice to hit two arrows even with the optional strumming I think. So you'd basically have to tap the buttons and strum at the same exact time making strumming obsolete. I'm not really sure about what I said but somehow it doesn't seem like rednanaki's suggestion would work.
