Re: World of Warcraft
I opened several tickets yesterday, none had a stated wait time of over 40 minutes, none of them took more than the stated wait time.
Mind you, earlier in the week, I had an item recovery issue escalated to the item recovery people and was quoted a "24-48 hour" turnaround. After 60 hours, I ended up having a guildmate roll up, and level a new character enough to get the item I was supposed to get from blizzard, and just gave it to me. |

I've had an escalated ticket open for a week before they gave a mislooted item I had to the proper owner.

Re: World of Warcraft
Good Lord, Steelbreaker hits like a train. We had a stupid melee run up in front of him and get parried right as I got a fusion punch. 46k damage in less than one second. Also, our DPS doesn't know how to run away from lightning tendrils, so we spent 3 hours wiping to Iron Council and another hour wiping to Emalon because our healers suddenly started sucking. F*** my life.

Re: World of Warcraft
That happened to me once. I ended up with a piece of loot that was supposed to go to someone else but the loot master gave it to me instead. I opened a ticket and was talking with a GM within an hour. I was then told I had to wait and speak with a "specialist", which evidently can take up to a week. I decided to log for the night and the following day I had a letter in my Inbox saying the item had been transferred to the appropriate character and that they were sorry for any inconvenience.

Re: World of Warcraft + randomness
*Jumps into thread randomly*
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...e&n=J%C3%ABrot thats Jėrot with a "Alt 0235" Warning: 3 words... A.D.D. What do you guys think of Ulduars difficulty considering where it is on the progression scale. We're only a few raids into the expansion, there's still a lot open, the Vykrul castle out in Icecrown, Icecown Citadel itself, Gundrak, the rest of the portals under Wyrmrest just to name a few. Ulduar is only the Gruuls [maaaybe SSC] of WotLK IMO, Its where working together as a raid actually becomes a requirement, and you cant just faceroll/head-wall a boss until it drops.[well... other then Flame Leviathan] But thats just what I think... The only thing I can see wrong with ulduar right now is the hardmodes in the future. once another raid or two comes out, there wont be any reason to complete the hardmodes in ulduar [other than achievements] on that note, what do you guys think Icecrown Citadel is going to be like? Personally, I would like to see it become a 20 or 25 / 40 man raid, instead of the 10/25. there's something wrong with killing arthas with 10 people. what would be even cooler [but difficult, but keep in mind, its just an idea...] is if they made it a 20/40 with 10/20 Alliance and 10/20 Horde on the same side. It would require some kind of queuing system, but would make alot of sense, common enemy, common goal, ect ect. You can argue having horde and alliance work together wrecks the game in some way. that it changes too much of what wow is/was. but to me, old wow died when they added reinforcements to AV... 10 HOUR TURTLES ARE FUN. speaking of breaking fun things, WHAT HAPPEND TO MAGE TIER GEAR. Honestly, I dont feel like a man unless I'm melting faces wearing a dress... tunic+pants are lame. In full mage t8.5, I'd look like a paladin... |

Re: World of Warcraft
If they made the primary focus of the whole expansion minimum 20-man under any circumstances they will piss off a LOT of players of this game.
The 10/25 man versions of everything were the best idea they've had in a long time. I'd still be okay with a 10/25/40 even if just for icecrown, but losing the "You can do everything with only 10 people" aspect of the expansion would be horrible. |

Re: World of Warcraft
You tire me...
I do agree about mage t8 though, I would have preferred a robe. But I disagree about hard modes, I think they're one of the best things about Ulduar. Since every hard mode yields better loot there will absolutely always be a reason to complete them besides for achievements. Right now I haven't revisited Sartharion in weeks but I can tell you that if my guild did we would leave 2 or 3 drakes up, not for an achievement or that dumb title everyone has now, but because it has better rewards for doing it. And since you're going back to clear older content you may as well do it in the hard mode because you'll continue to get the most out of them, and they will continue to get easier with upgrades. |

Im not saying the hard modes are a bad thing, I just think they're going to become obsolete after a few new raids come out. half the hard modes require you to know the fight very well. [the other half is just about having the right gear / dps] and if people are just going back for gear, and havent done the fight for whatever reason, or dont remember it. it can get messy, it would be alot easier to do a 1 or 2 tier higher raid. which might or might not be easier, but will have much better gear. I dont really see a way or a reason to fix it, but im just saying. its alot of content that people are going to skip. but on the other hand, if they just made the encounters that hard the casuals would cry, and if they didn't have hard modes to make the endgame challenging, everyone else would cry. |

Re: World of Warcraft
Yes, totally. Also I don't know what you've read about Algalon the Observer, but you essentially get one hour per week to practice the encounter, and apparently it's retardedly difficult. You've got to complete several hard mode bosses on the way to him, though, which just solidifies everything you're saying. People cried so much about Naxxramas, and rightfully so, that Blizzard said, "Alright then, have fun with Ulduar." And damn...did they make a 180 from Naxx.

Nearly 9M effective healing is kickass! I wish we had more healers like you in my guild, really. They always say, "How are my 2000 HPS not keeping the Patchwerk tank alive???!?!"

On the other hand, what I don't like about hard modes is that they sort of cheapen the experience. Forgive me for sounding like one of those annoying retro players, but raids did used to be more epic when you knew downing one boss - any boss - was a huge deal. Being decked in purple gear was actually something respectable, rather than expected. And watching the final boss in a dungeon die was something that really made you felt good, rather than "okay he's dead now we can go kill him on the difficulty he was meant to be at". "Hard modes" are actually "vanilla/BC boss difficulty" modes. Not any schmoe could kill Arthas if hard modes were invented. Quote:

Re: World of Warcraft
YOU PLAY ALLIANCE AND MY FRIENDS AREN'T ON YOUR SERVER.
Also I can't see myself playing anything other than a Shaman, and Draenei are ugly. Alliance fails. Also that was the tank healer's fault. I looked at what caused it, and it was essentially that in the span of 4.5s, the tank took 3 hits and only got healed for one of them. When we b-rezzed him, he wasn't main aggro and so he took hatefuls, except his HP sucked and the hateful one-shotted him. Patchwerk is not an easy fight. It's easy for the DPS and tanks, sure, but it's the most stressful fight in Naxx for the healers. |

Re: World of Warcraft
It's decently easy for me to heal and I'm a priest, single target isn't my thing =x
The only problem is dumb tanks who don't have a decent set of avoidance gear. And even with that there's usually enough time in between blows to heal them up to full. |

Hey, these dumb tanks could just be losing gear rolls. =[
The avoidance gear is obviously much better used on an offspec of another character. ~Tsugomaru

Re: World of Warcraft
It's true that he was a bad tank but I don't think that caused it.
Also, tokzic, what you fail to realize every damn time I post something about our runs is that we're not just grabbing 25 people from our guild who want to go. We don't have 25 people in our guild, even including alts. It was 5 people from our guild, 3 from another, 6 from another, 4 from another, 3 from another, 2 from another, etc. I don't think we've ever had a run where the same 25 people come back the week after, let alone the same 25 people filling the same roles each time. |

also Freya downed last night, then some Thorim wipes. Guild leader gave me half our guilds Runed Orbs so I got myself a Sash of Ancient Power made =D then got some 10 Ulduar in and got Eye of the Broodmother so I'm pretty happy. However I rolled a 1 on Spark of Hope and a damn 5 on 8.5 legs from the Freya later on which was quite unfortunate. Last edited by Gano; 05-12-2009 at 05:50 PM.. |
