Re: Current Seniors
Yeah, I'm a senior this year. Honestly haven't done too much for applying places, but I'm only going to apply to one college and the form is severely easy to fill out, my counselor just wants me to go there first to make sure that that's where I want to go >.> Which will be next Sunday :P Not really excited to go, I'm gonna have the same lifestyle that I do now (Go to class and stay in my dorm all day), but it's better than having to get a job, in my opinion xP

Ohmygod how I would love this. Anyhoo, I'm not a senior but from experience, college is fantastic. You guys will LOVE it I promise. I think I've had the most respect for education since I moved onto college, because I got to pursue my own thing. I didn't feel it as a "waste of my time". My dad always said "No one can take your education from you". How true that is. P.S. Don't do stupid **** like party every damn night and get so drunk you leave a full-vomit-trail right to your dorm. Oh, and try to not sleep in class. You're paying hundreds/ thousands to just have an hour nap??? I don't find it worth the money. But then again, I can't tell you guys what to do, so do whatever I suppose.

The best part about college is learning what you love, instead of arts and crafts or some ****** **** **** **** like that.

Re: Current Seniors
I hate the quarter system too. Classes were two hours long and my mind begins to wander after an hour. I find myself a lot less stressed about school now that I'm at a school on semesters.

Re: Current Seniors
or you can be smart and go to a community college and take the same courses as a normal college for about 40k less. only reason i tried in high school was to get NJ stars, but they got rid of it so it doesn't even matter. I didn't make it anyway.
and back to rubix's post. that or you can get a 4.0 in college and transfer to where ever you want.

Re: Current Seniors
Senior here as well. I'm looking at Berklee in Boston, so I really do not have to try for school, but moreover excel in my music capabilities (electric guitar). Ridiculously easy for me now that I know they don't care for ACT/SAT or grades all that much lol. All about the music, baby!

Re: Current Seniors
I strongly disagree about the "don't try in highschool".
If you go into mathematics, you want to overkill on EVERYTHING MATH from Grade 1 through Grade 12... Learn it all as solidly as possible, and review it all the time. It will REALLY help you at University. (I would especially suggest learning how to do Limit Differentiation as best you can.) :[

Re: Current Seniors
I'm a senior. I don't have plans on a specific college at the moment but I'm prospecting a few options, and assessing availability at the places around here. I'm currently looking into either New Brunswick Community College (Moncton campus) or Oulton College, depending on what I want.

Re: Current Seniors
It all depends on what you're going to do. I do not need to try as hard as some other people because I'm relying on something that a vast majority of people don't have, Music talent (not saying all of you don't, but high school population-wise). I'm not saying I'm not going to try and get good grades, but I'm not going to stress the hair off of my head over a B and not getting an A.

Re: Current Seniors
First year into the Pharmacy Program at TSU (Texas Southern University). Will finish in the next 4 years.
PS: During your high school year, you have to either do really well in sports and get into a good college from that or you can do it the old fashion way and work your butt off during your 4 years of high school (especially your junior and senior year) getting good grades so you can get into a good college.

Re: Current Seniors
Depends on the school. Being a recruited athlete doesn't mean you can let grades slide.

Re: Current Seniors
I'm aware of that as well seeing that there's a rule in high school sports that states: "No pass, no play."
I should probably say that if you're a decently smart athlete who is really good at a certain sport, you can get into a good college with some kind of scholarship.
