Latency is pretty much constant and based on actual distance of your connection route. Streaming is only heavy on bandwidth but that's irrelevant to effective latency.
The only other thing that would make a difference is if twitch does some significant processing (like applying the copyright thing on livestreams) before setting up the stream for viewers, but there's nothing that really justifies it. There are many reasons a minimal 1~2s delay would be desirable for the streaming service, I'm just pointing out that it's not a question of connection infra-structure to build the streaming pipeline. |
