I don't do sports at all, so I'm guessing out of my ass.
Quarter Finals
Eastern Conference
(1) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (8) New York Islanders
(2) Montréal Canadiens vs. (7) Ottawa Senators
(3) Washington Capitals vs. (6) New York Rangers
(4) Boston Bruins vs. (5) Toronto Maple Leafs

Western Conference
(1) Chicago Blackhawks vs. (8) Minnesota Wild
(2) Anaheim Ducks vs. (7) Detroit Red Wings
(3) Vancouver Canucks vs. (6) San Jose Sharks
(4) St, Louis Blues va. (5) Los Angeles Kings

I bet 10 credits.

15 pickers already. Jeebus you're all fast (either that or waiting for me to do this).
Nice to see some familiar faces here too! Blue (it's like round 3, 2011 all over again. =']), Flash (sorry about Jersey not getting in), lump (gonna go 0-4 in the semis again?), Vince, dev, Kibblre (see you in conference finals. ;D), emerald, Hatred.

To the rest of you welcome aboard. I have updated the current round table so that everyone is entered and tied (0-0 WOO!) and will be editting the OP to mention when entries are open/closed.

EDIT: You guys and your donations... Prizes got a wee bit of a kick. Enjoy!

LOL doubtful, last years playoffs were really fluky, this year should be more of the top seeds winning. Honestly will probably come down to Blackhawks-Penguins for the cup if Crosby and Malkin both play.

I don't see any series that'll be stupid and fun to watch like Pens/Flyers last year

A healthy Chicago who lost only 11 times this year, and 5 of those being extra time? Please.

Minnesota has a great team, it's just statistically, they are not better than Chicago.

It is possible for them to win, just in my opinion, everyone will have to step up, have GAA less than 2.00, and they need to Capitalize on Power-plays. Also Konopka needs to stay out of the box LOL

Also if they can shut down Kane, Toews and Hossa, as well as poop on Crawford and Emery, then Minnesota wins.

I would also like to see Suter get more goals.

And also personally, I would rather see Minnesota beat Chicago, I just don't think they have it in them.

Coach Yeo
"It's pretty simple, we've got to be great at every aspect of our game, every player of our team," Yeo said after Tuesday's morning skate at the United Center. "The depth of their lineup, the strength of their game in all situations, there's no room for error on our part.

Guys I was obviously kidding even if I knew nothing about hockey the numbers would still be there xD I phrased it in a way that implied I thought Chicago was a bunch of wimps, can't get any more obvious than that!

Yeah I read that. Even a flawless run might not be enough imo, the only advantage we have is that we have a ton of rookie power to add in our formulas while we're already well aware of how Chicago is gonna look like. But even then we'll probably lose 3/4 of the faceoffs and we won't have what it takes to turn things around, and Chicago isn't quite the team to let go the steam.

Regardless of how tonight goes, i'm curious to see how Yeo will try to adapt, on paper he does have things to work with, but he'll be working with guesses while the Hawks have a 100% working receipe. This series should be interesting if Yeo decides to actually do his job right for once.

Welcome to May, a time where Penguins will rediscover how they are true Islanders, the Canadiens watch the Maple Leafs get Bruined by an early fall, Senators continue to joust in city Capitals, and Rangers continue to hunt down Blackhawks in the Wild. The Kings of the wilderness may take note of a squabble between Ducks and Sharks, but in reality, it is the Maple Leafs who will be singing the Blues the fastest, for being the most penalised franchise they are most likely to be Shanabanned before and / or after the Bears of the Wild are done with them.

I'm kinda glad NJ didn't make it, because even if they did. They would most likely get destroyed in the first round.
Always awesome to see hockey fans, since there are none here in Florida. Also this thread will keep me coming to this site year after year <3 T-Force

Also can't wait to see rage posts about refs or teams sucking

Figured I'd take a shot at this. I know there's such a little chance of NYI beating Pittsburgh, but I still gotta support them, they've been playing damn well this season.

Basically the Penguins and Blackhawks are overwhelmingly large favorites and bookies/sportsbooks believe one of those two will definitely win the cup with those posted odds.
