Meow Zedong watches over us in the safety of the PC. He sent us Marc Zedong to run the party in his place

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
So they got to Articuno, but it turned out to be another Mew, and it Self-Destructed.
Imagine the calamity if they didn't already have one... |

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
Firered is being played on a ROM hack that randomizes everything from Pokemon to even their movesets. All the starters and wild Pokemon are completely random with randomized abilities and moves, the latter of which are usually adhering to that Pokemon's type (e.g. Psychic Pokemon suffer in this RNG because they have too many non-damaging moves in gen 3). Also, all the gym leaders and trainers have randomized Pokemon teams.
To summarize some notable events: Their starter was a "Bulbasaur" that turned out to be a lazy Machop with the ability Truant (it attacks every other turn). Route 1 was filled with armless Pokemon (re: Slugma, Taillow, etc.) that all had punch movesets. More hilarious shenanigans I'm too lazy to type out. For their legendary encounters: They traded a Nidoran Male for a Mew. Totally a fair trade. "Moltres" turned out to be a Latios, which they defeated. "Zapdos" turned out to be a Mewtwo, which they ran away from. "Articuno" turned out to be a Mew, which selfdestructed.

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
Going from 100 tries in Emerald to 10 tries in FireRed. Not bad, Twitch.
EDIT: Looks like they're playing Blue Mystery Dungeon instead of doing FireRed's side stuff. Last edited by koga939; 04-26-2014 at 11:16 PM.. |

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
Randomization (getting Pokemon you normally couldn't with moves and abilities they don't normally have) and learning from the mistakes of the original Red run were the two biggest advantages Alice had over her predecessor.

Now that I think about it, I think the biggest surprise is that they didn't release anybody, except that Zigzagoon on the first day. I guess Bill and the PC had an off-day, unless the Dome is good after all... |

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
Fire red has been the easiest of all the TPP. The lore kind of sucked and the random pokemon turned out to be not as fun as most had hoped

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
^ I can agree with some of that, but I think Emerald was worse.
And to my surprise, it looks like the stream will be able to control the touchscreen after all. Veeeerrrrry interesting... |

Re: Twitch Plays Pokemon
Platinum starts soon.
I bet they'll pick Piplup and release a Starly (or an evolved form of it). I actually kinda miss killing someone off the team. I'll also be thoroughly amazed if they spend less than a month on it. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it took two. ESPECIALLY if it took them a week or something on Hoenn's Elite Four. |

They got a female starter out of the suitcase.
God dammit, I don't remember if I've ever pulled that off and yet back in Gen 2 I had a shiny Hypno. |
