Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
I just don't see it humanly possible to boost from AAAing 75s to 81s in a 1 month period.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
Is it just me or does D2's song seem to have a dropped arrow or two at the very beginning? It might be too late at this point if that's the case, but adding some silence at the start would be the remedy.

I don't necessarily find it humanly possible either, but anything can happen. Look at ddrkid for example (hate to point fingers). Anybody is capable of skillboosting very fast in a short amount of time.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
Last October I got a Since 1983 AAA. Prior to that, my best AAA was Variations 2. By the end of the month I had a Jamais Deux AAA. I'd question a boost from 75 to 84 or more; anything less than that might be unlikely, but reasonable.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
I agree with rushy. Even if it's hypothetically possible to boost that much, you can't dismiss it as boosting every time it happens. It's something that would be rare. With a 3 clean top 16 cutoff on Sleep, there should not be ANYONE in D5 even SDGing Crow's Ghost. The bump is so massive that no single division should account for that skill gap, especially on a 16-man scale.
But it's not like we didn't know going in that certain D5ers were pretty obvious D6 material. A bump at this point would be stupid, but placements could be handled better next year. Like not grouping a guy with a Love & Justice blackflag (no, it's not a "a certain kind of score" unless you mean an unambiguously D6 one) with people whose highest AAA is a 69. It's kind of stupid to talk about at this point though. Just give ca25nada or DarkZtar the win and place better next time.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 5!
i think placements were pretty good this year to be honest. Some players in D5 have really stepped it up. I'm pretty sure no one saw kmay making top 16... just saying.

AAAs that were "out of my range" that I obtained within that timeframe: Alethia AAA on day of release (77), Lolo (77), Frictional Nevada (78), Gunkien (80) while when I began the tourney my best AAAs were low low 70s. (Play SM a lot, new mech keyboard, a few hours dedicated to FFR each week to transfer skill a bam 3 FGOs iirc a few weeks in the tourney... I still lost though haha) Now again, my skilldrops are just as intense though. Can't AAA 60s anymore lmfao Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 02-20-2013 at 08:58 AM.. |

Allow me to explain. Now 104 survived the constrain. Yet only 7 shirts to claim. Master that which blocks your brain. To win this crazy campaign. Don't drive yourself insane. Instead you might shout something profane. Maybe even complain. It might be quite mundane. For your sanity you must regain. Until we ascertain. Those who shall remain. To finally attain. The crown of their reign.
