Re: FFR's Next Polymath
2 things... 1. as far as i can tell, internetRPG caps at 20.... i played a decent bit beyond hitting level 20, and never leveled again. so i stopped. 2. pieces is so unbelievably boring, it isn't even funny.... so i quit really quickly. i hate exploratory games like that. same reason i don't play metroid.

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
yea.... you realize how retarded that is, right? to have any one "thing" worth more points than the entire rest of the competition combined? not to mention, i knew that's where it was... but the source clues are so dumb, neither MalDON nor myself could figure out how to get past the 2nd screen. i tried multiple different possibilities. Will have Synth look at it. If synth can't get it.... yea.
edit: tried 3-4 possible solutions to it, none worked. Synth doesn't have anything else to add either. So myself, maldon, and synth all struck out on it.

I'm completely lost on what you two are talking about. Care to explain?

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
OK, that just means that Darkness and Commander are racing to get it. I joined this tournament for fun, the credits are a little bonus. I didn't join for the intent of winning, just a way to take a break from other things and see beyond just practicing FFR and looking at profiles all day.

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
Yeah, I've found it. I haven't really been playing the flash games, just doing the mental riddles 'cause I enjoy that sort of thing. It is a tad unfair that I could, if I wanted, win the whole thing without actually playing any of the rounds just because I happen to have done the riddles before. Seriously, I've gone through over a hundred of the things, and some of them are downright obscure.
Tass deserves to win, based on what he's done in the other rounds. Oh, and if the easy way that jonathanasdf refers to is what I think it is, then that's just silly. When the tourney ends, I'll explain if anyone's interested. Commandersa1: You'll just have to look harder for it |

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
Meh...I'll play fair. It will be annoying if darkness beats me due to some loophole/glitch in the contest rules or whatever.

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
i've already stated that i'm not participating in the silly 50k nonsense.... and darkness & commander have both PMed me giving me attempted assistance because neither feels it's fair for me not to win at this point, unless someone actually outdid me on the games/mentals fairly. and fractal has basically said the same thing, sans PM.
so, do what you want jon. i've submitted a pretty darn good score on just about every single game (submitted on every), done every normal mental round, done some of the bonus stuff. etc etc. and i don't even want the credits.

Truly, it's easy to get past the Wikipedia page. The 500 point-per-level thing is just insane. Sure, that website is prestigious for stumping almost everyone that has played it (I think only 137 people have beaten it legitly?), but 500 points per level is pretty unfair. I mean, finding the hidden pages was a nice challenge, it really made me think hard. But to think that I could come from behind and even beat TASS who is 10k+ points ahead of me by beating levels in a single puzzle... |

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
my point is that it's silly to have 1 "bonus" that is worth well more than ALL the rest of the games/mentals/bonuses combined... a large portion of my comments in this thread are working to fix unbalanced point issues, and then jon comes and does this? stupid.

Re: FFR's Next Polymath
I say keep all of the other special rounds in place, and remove round 7. That would at LEAST make it a bit more fair.
