Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I'm not noticing a syncing problem.
The problems with the guitars are cross-platform. The problem exists on the PS2 and the 360, so I see no reason why the Wii would be exempt. The speculation is the removable neck. Anyway, after I came home from class and finished up some work and watched some great shows (Mythbusters was awesome tonight), I put myself back into Hard. I don't know what it is. I got all the way to Tier 6 with only one real problem song. I had to practice the intro to it on Slowest and it was still going too fast for me to figure out how to move my fingers for it. Freakin' "Same old song and dance". Ugh. G/G/R/B/B/BO/BO--/B/O/B/ and repeat. After that it's those doubles that have a gap between them. I suck at those too. And oh god the O/Y/B pattern. What the crap. That's so freakin' hard to do. I had fun actually needing to strum up for the first time, as Barracuda was really starting to kill my wrist. That's probably the most fun to strum up and down on. Had to play Miss Murder for the first time since Hard requires you to pass all four songs, and that had up-strumming too. Which was fun and made the horrible song actually enjoyable. Somewhere along the line I had a really, really fun time playing one of the songs and actually five starred it. I can't remember which one. I know it was an encore song though. My average is three stars on everything, which is making getting money very difficult. My Name is Jonas is still my favorite song to play. I just love how you hit one note and the next dozen are all white. The guitar battle with Slash went a lot better than it did last time and despite my flustering with the weird patterns, I actually won on my first try. And Welcome to the Jungle on Hard is very fun. Looking forward to Tier 7. Knights of Cydonia. Whoooo. |

Try 1/1/1/33/34/34--/4/3/4/. Getting the shifting done out of the way before you have to think about the orange fret helped me adjust to playing on it instead of having to worry about how I'd get there when it came up.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
thanks for the compliments. Only song I had to play more than once to 5* in the main setlist, and it was definitely over 15 times i played that ****ing song.
and that sucks about non-career co-op for wii. ps2 has it, and 360 got a release day patch for it, but i wasnt sure about the other systems |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Well i have been playing GH3 non-stop since i got it and when i woke up this morning i couldn't move my arm, but its all better now
but i have 5* all the songs on expert until i get to black sunshine which i absolutely suck at. Then I 5* until 3's and 7's then i get 4 on the rest and a 3. Oh and i was playing through the fire and flames and i can only get 60% through. And does anyone agree that it is harder than Jordan |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
it's definitely harder to pass overall than jordan, but there's not much in it that's harder than the solos in jordan.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I disagree. The solo in Jordan is just way too fast. Even now that the game has been out for so long, there can't be too many people who can pass it without star power. TTFATF, on the other hand, is not too difficult a pass for experienced players after learning to do the beginning. Not sure if I could do it without star power, but I don't abuse it as badly as I need to in Jordan. In terms if the entire song, though, TTFATF is harder to get a higher star rating on for sure.
5*d Raining Blood a little while ago. I just had to do better on the part with all the chords and stuff right before the really fast strumming. Kinda nailed the part where you have to go down the scale a ton, too. Personally, I'm not too concerned about non-career co-op. You can still play it online, anyway. Hopefully Wii and PS3 will get a patch soon, though. Oh, and I haven't noticed any offsync songs either. The F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. syncing seems fine to me. |

Bought it yesterday. Then my 360 broke and now I have to wait "up to 60 days" for a repair.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I don't get it. Seriously.
I was doing fine yesterday. I get on today and I get hit with utter crap. Cherub Rock? It's a slow-paced Smashing Pumpkins song. WHY AM I HITTING FIVE DIFFERENT PATTERNS OF TRIPLE NOTES AT ONCE. Ugh. Somehow managed to pass that. Then I get to The Metal. Most whacked-up stream ever. Seriously. Can't people just write normal charts? I somehow pass that and the encore and I'm hit with this horrible excuse for a song by Slipknot. I can't even hear the guitar but apparently it's going 200 BPM and has triples ALL OVER THE PLACE. OH SURE IT'S NOT HARD TO GO YBO to GRY IN LESS THAN HALF A SECOND. TOTALLY EASY. The worst part is I swear I am hitting the other horribly-placed chart notes and they're just not going, so my meter is plummeting as I miss notes without even noticing (I don't get sour notes, but the white notes are working, which means I hit the first note in the stream, right?!) This is the stupidest step chart I've seen since Cherub Rock, which was just stupid. It's like this only somewhat logical as it's just one finger off to replace another every new triple. This is just insane. No matter how you play, you have to slide all the way down to green from yellow and find the other two notes in 0.05 seconds. God, now I know why I skipped this song when I had the choice. I hate Slipknot even more now. Once again, the difficulty curve in this game is just beyond weird. I finally started getting the hang of playing on Hard and so they take advantage of that by assuming I can not only hit triples, but that I can hit them so proficiently well that I can shift from one triple immediately following a stream of difficulty-placed notes into multiple iterations of that triple, followed by a triple on the other side of the fret. I love how the tutorial absolutely sucks. No mention of blue or orange. No mention of triples. No mention of anything relevant at all. "HEY CHECK OUT OUR NEW BATTLE MODE LOL!!!!!!!!!1111" Ugh I give up. I practiced on Slowest, then Slower, then Slow, and then I played it. Then I failed. Again and again and again. So I played another song in Tier 7. And failed it. Then a different song. And failed it. Then the last song, Knights of Cydonia. And failed it. I passed the jacks and even held a combo through them the second time through of 100 notes. The SLOW part of the song that's supposed to be EASIER was MORE DIFFICULT. Like I said, the difficulty curve is just broken. They make up notes and just throw them in randomly. I swear. Last edited by Squeek; 11-1-2007 at 10:20 PM.. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I beat Raining Blood today. This is the song where I got the "lose to one song 10 times continuosly". Hated that mush 1 part.
Lou, on the hand, is a b*tch for the doubles and lefty attacks on me. I wil beat him eventually though. but I don't see any syncage problem in my game. Probably the guitars and their removable neck is the problem.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
If only. Red Ring of Death means that it gets exchanged instantly for three years after purchase courtesy of Microsoft.. My problem is that while playing GH2, the graphics crackled then suddenly it looked like I was playing on a PS2 on drugs. I restarted the console, and this time there was no video whatsoever (though I did get audio). It isn't the cable that's the problem, either, because the HD video cords aren't working either. Something must have gotten blown, so now I'm stuck waiting on it to be fixed, potentially until after Christmas.

As for GRY to YBO, that's pretty much the easiest triple combinations you can have. The expert chart for the Slipknot song is ridiculous because all of the triples are really awkward. They're well-stepped, but the problem is triple chords are really easy on guitar so rock bands use them a lot, but on Guitar Hero they're incredibly awkward. It's an exchange of technicality for fun-factor, although I'm sure the Slipknot song is amazingly fun if you can actually do it. (the GY RB YO runs on expert 'bout made me crap my pants lol)
