Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
Okay so I never really understood why this song was considered a 9. It's extremely short : 25 seconds, and the patterns aren't really that difficult.
If the song was something like a minute long, it would be okay, but I find that its difficulty is really too low compared to its length atm. |

Re: Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
9, considering the TPS being high enough to unlock vrofl. I also see it being hard to FC (for a beginner) then every other 8 beside Max Forever and Eclipse (which both need bumps)

Re: Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
The difficulty of the file is a mid 9 due to the weird transitional jumps and semi-quick swing jumpstream. The length only takes it down to a low 9, but still a 9 nonetheless.

Re: Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
I just played this file for the first time in a while. I was wondering why it was a 9, but then the second half of the file kicked in, with jumps coming in every 16th of a note (split-heavy!). Definitely a 9, haha.

Re: Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
To me, this is harder than Max Forever, but not by much. IMO max forever should be the highest 8 with Yoshiis cookie being the lowest 9.
It is short, but the fast jump patterns most certainly harder than other 8s at the top end (TGWP2, Kaliedescope, etc). Not by a LOT, but by enough that they are significantly different... +1 for seeing this remain as a 9 (will cross-post this to the difficulty guidelines thread)

Re: Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
Should definitely stay at 9. AJ already explained the kick in the ass the second is for such a short file. That jumpstream is pretty tricky, PA'ing wise and rhythmically.
EDIT: The part that goes [34]12[34]12[34] is fast syncopation which most beginner's don't often see either.

Re: Yoshi's Cookie [8 or 9]
Yoshi's a 9, along with the other short 9 stuff that have patterns and note density that justify the 9, like Famouz, Electrical Parade -Remix-, EMIAJ. Yoshi has 17 NPS at its peak- that's a lot, considering songs a band above like Lives Without Meaning, Carrousel Paradise, dot death, etc. don't exceed 15 NPS. Sure it's short, but that middle section and the second half of the song are brutish for 9s and justify its difficulty. Definitely one of the easiest 9s due to its length, but certainly not an 8.
For comparison, some of the hardest 8s like Harry Potter TR and Red Alert cap out at 13 NPS for brief periods - Red Alert is pretty much the hardest 8 if you ignore Max Forever in terms of unmashed FCability, with that 13 NPS stream. Yoshi is pretty much denser than that for longer than that, so it's definitely a 9. |

It's a 9, sure it's short, but it sure is dense in some sections and it does pack quite a punch.

Should stay a 9. the ending is very tough to read/dense. too much for an 8
