How to make a signature/banner
So, your tired of asking and asking for someone to make you a banner or the banner is just crap. Well now you can make your own! Ok now i will go over the two best signature making programs.
What you will learn You will learn about GIMP. You will learn about Adobe Photoshop. You will learn how to make a basic signature. GIMP Yes,lol its called GIMP in my opinion the best free signature/banner maker out there. This tutorial will be over GIMP. because im not familiar with adobe photoshop. To download GIMP go to: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ For more tutorials go to http://gimptalk.com/ Adobe Photoshop im not too familiar with Adobe Photoshop... Adobe Photoshop does cost money and ALOT i think it costs around 1000 US$ yea dont think im going to buy that but its just up to you.But there is a free 30 day trial at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ This tutorial will be over GIMP so if you want to learn about Photoshop go to.. http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorials/Photoshop/1 The Tutorial Ok first open GIMP>File>New Now make the 420x74 (note this is for a signature you can make it wider for a banner). Ok so your signature should look like this Now time to download some brushes. Google "GIMP brushes" and go to the one with the link as deviantart. Now just download one of the brush packs. now its time to import your brushes into GIMP. Ok go to File>Prefrences. Now go down to folders and find the brushes folder shown below. Now go into brushes and click the paper it looks like this. looks like it does nothing right.Well it does so now click the icon with the three dots on it. Now go and find your brushes and press ok. It should say "GIMP must restart". So just restart and go find your brushes should look something like this. Now we will start adding brush to your signature. Ok so get the brush tool (P) and find a brush. A tip is to not use the same brush in your whole sig try keeping it down to 1 or two with the same brush. Also try not to do it overlapping them all so its not too dark but make sure its all full. Your sig should look something like this Note:it may not look this good or it may look better it just depends on what brushes you have and how fast of a learner you are. so you dont like it being just black and white? Well we can sure change that. Go to Tools>Color Tools>Colorize. and just adjust to what you want. So now we shall add text.Ok click the text icon or (T). Find the font you want it should look something like this. now just find the color you want and click where you want it. Now it should look something like this. Your probably saying OMFG i almost made a sweet signature! the last thing we need to do is go to layer>merge down. Now make sure the color selected is black and go to Select>all. Now go to File>Save as. Put ".png" at the end of your name or your signature wont work on here. Viola!!! you have made your own signature!! This can only lead ot bigger and better things. Feel free to post any questions or what you made by doing this . This is not all the things there is to know so remember to go to gimptalk.com to learn some more stuff. If you just cant get the hang of this or to lazy to do it ill make you one for free just go to http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=77679 Hope this gets sticky =D Happy GIMPing, Tim Still

Sticky fishing ftw!
P.S. Though, I must say, if you made your siggy in GIMP, it looks pretty nice. |
