FFR Forum Awards 2014 - Adding/Removing/Changing Categories

Hey guys! Merry Christmas, hope you guys are enjoying yourselves today.

So as you guys know, the FFR Forum Awards are coming up, and that means another year to vote for the people who should take home the crowns for their respective categories.

However, the actual event isn't going to happen right now - this thread is actually dedicated to the categories and whether we should add, remove, or change them in any way. And I would like the community's input on this please.

So, down below I will have the full list of categories from the previous years, and I would like you guys to put in your suggestions. I will leave this thread open until roughly the end of next week.

If anything, I would remove the negative awards as they really serve no purpose but to incite people. Unless someone really does look forward to be named the "Worst Overall Poster" because dat would be ME!!!

pretty much everyone that wins one of the negative categories takes it in stride though
middie won "least friendliest" a while back iirc and he's still middie

Only thing I would say is for the FFR hall of fame, state who is already in the hall of fame so people know not to vote for them

worst ones are debatable, although I guess they really aren't needed

Least Friendliest Poster
Least Helpful Poster
Worst Overall Poster
Least Funniest Poster
Stupidest Poster
Worst Newbie
Worst Thread 2014
Worst FFR File from 2014



I'd also consider changing Least Noticed Poster to Most Underrated Poster, or something of the sort.

Least Friendliest Poster and Least Funniest Poster should be changed to Least Friendly Poster and Least Funny Poster. I'd like to see Stupidest Poster removed since it's solely and unequivocally insulting to that person as opposed to descriptive categories of least helpful or friendly; even worst poster is (or should be) about the content someone posts.

Why are all of these negative categories off-limits but Worst Avatar and Worst Signature still included?

just looking at these suggestions has confirmed that fiffer has been pussified along with most of the internet

To me, voting on those two doesn't translate to insulting someone or their behavior. They could also be eye-opening to the award winner (loser?) in a way that I don't think applies to the other negative categories. "Oh, people don't like my sig? Guess I might want to change it." Responding to perceived unhelpfulness, on the other hand, would be better left to a private message from a forum mod, if anything. (Just my opinion.)

I wouldn't mind seeing those two gone, by any means.

I disagree. In the same way that you're saying the avatar/signature categories can be eye-opening to the winner, so can ones about behavior (perceived unfriendliness and unhelpfulness). And the analogous response of. "Oh, people don't like my behavior? Guess I might want to change it." can be elicited, in a different way than if just one moderator sent a private message.
