I just didnt expect people from here to get it first day. I also wasnt expecting to get it on my first run. Sightread tapping ftw. so ya, i revoke my need for proof. 4*d it. But my only proof is live leaderboards lolololol. Beat Lou on my first run as well. Got really ****in lucky when the ultra sensitive lespaul sent over a broken string which ended up destroying lou, and then i killed him with a lefty flip. Still have my 4* on raining blood, so i havent gotten the achievement for 5*ing X, but ill get it soon enough |

Some of these charts are absolutely brilliant and extremely fun to play, and I love the new HOPO system. Others are kinda meh and the guitar is kinda meh. I wish I could use my SG on a PS3

I'm limerent with Raining Blood.
Although I cannot pass it yet, I'm finally getting those bizarre moshes down. I'm just terrible with fast chords that aren't in sequence.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
The PS3 LP has some annoying lag issues. The most annoying is when you tilt for SP and simultaneously do a fast strumming part the guitar overloads and you miss everything It's quick and pretty painless, but really annoying.

This is amazing. So far, I've passed every song but Raining Blood and One. Hopefully I'll be able to get those soon.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
Just beat the Easy Campaign. 5 stars on every song with one exception... That Slayer song in the last chapter. For whatever reason it's much, much harder than all the other songs.
If it doesn't sound like an accomplishment, consider that I've played maybe an hour of Guitar Hero I and II combined and that I played on Medium. Edit: Sup guys. I can't do blue notes. Tips plz thx I just now remembered (by habit of note-hitting during blue-note songs) that the way I used to do it was to use just my index finger for all four notes. It works well, but it absolutely destroys my finger, especially when I slide over the line on the yellow note so many times. I also remembered that I beat "Take Me Out" on Guitar Hero 1 like this. But I beat it on Expert. With one finger. I want to adapt a new technique but my hand just hates me. Edit 2: Also, my Whammy bar keeps falling. It's loose and when I go to reach for it during a star-hold, it's never there. Really annoying. Anyone else have this problem / a solution to it? I've spun it around numerous times as a screw, but that did nothing. Edit 3: Ok, remedied my blue button problem. Hoping I can slide easily for Hard songs. I just 5-starred My Name is Jonas. So far, that's my favorite song. Most of it is hammer-on / pull-off the entire time. It's really fun. About to play the Even Flow encore though, so who knows! My whammy bar is still loose though. I tried rubber bands but they got in the way. Edit 4: That whammy bar will be the death of me. Nearly lost against Slash because he pulled a ton of Whammys on me and I couldn't even find the freakin thing. But you know it's time to quit when your hands start to hurt. It's not a mystery why--I just played for six straight hours. Last edited by Squeek; 10-30-2007 at 03:13 AM.. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
1. Use your first three fingers to fret. This way you only have 3 main hand positions intead of 5+.
2. Rotate it up towards you and hold it in the pinky of your strumming hand.

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I just finished medium, but i suck terribly at sliding down onto the orange button. Also I suck terribly and pull offs and I rarely use them, any tips on either problems would be appreciated

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
I finished up Medium. I didn't get anything fewer than 4 stars on any songs, but I see that changing when I get to Hard. I even beat Lou on my first try, though I can't say the same for Slash.
I don't get why Cliffs of Dover is in Tier 8. It's like a Tier 6 song. It's happy and upbeat and easy. It doesn't belong with all the other metal songs. Edit: Jugglin, I'm probably going to have the same problem soon enough. I've been using the pinky for Blue, and I figure I'll shift the entire hand down to Red-Index and Orange-Pinky. If you need practice on pull-offs / hammer-ons, try "My Name is Jonas" over and over again. I got much better at them after playing that. Last edited by Squeek; 10-30-2007 at 05:31 PM.. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
it's got a ton of tricky hammer-on and pull-off stuff on expert and probably hard, and since that's most likely what the difficulty scale goes by, there are probably some songs on easy and medium that feel out of place

Still stuck on those 2 songs, but I finished Hard so that I could battle Lou. I still have a long way to go before I'm ready for raining blood or one.

Okay, I just thought I'd post this, because I was looking for it myself. In case you haven't noticed, under the leaderboards there are the categories "Career Expert" and "Campaign Expert." There are the same two groups for the other difficulties and for overall. On the Wii leaderboards, the highest scorer for Campaign Expert has a score roughly 30 million points more than, and about four times as many points as, the highest scorer for Career Expert. I haven't seen any clear definition for the difference between these two categories, but obviously, it's not simply with and without bonus tracks. Some discussion can be found here: http://www.guitarhero.com/forums/6599/forum_topics/3034 The most recent posts seem to be the most educated, but they still don't seem right. The leader for Campaign Overall is not much higher than the leader for Campaign Expert, and someone reported their Expert score as higher than their Overall score. It also doesn't make sense for Campaign to be your total score between all of the difficulties, because there are separate Campaign scores for each difficulty, all much higher than the Career scores. If anyone knows for sure what these categories mean, please explain. edit: I think I'm just tired. Looking at the leaderboards, the Campaign score being the total score of all songs played in that difficulty makes perfect sense. That's a crappy stat to show on the front page of the website, though. That's like FFR's overall score :P Last edited by dAnceguy117; 10-30-2007 at 09:36 PM.. |

Re: Guitar Hero. Awesome.
is it just me or does barracude seem very off sync? i calibrate the lag and it doesn't change anything. the fret-track seems to be almost a 16th step ahead of the song. very annoying when you're trying to do the verses.
i've had the game for a couple days, i'm halfway through the hard campaign, haven't gotten anything but 5stars sightreading, but the difficulty is definitely improved. i doubt ill be able to beat tier 8 on expert first go. i have to get my wii online..... danceguy speaks the truth in his response. the opening of expert CoD is amazingly difficult. it's almost like the opening keyboard part of expert TTFATF... almost.
