Yea.... Very yes. They're facing a decent team in the White Sox and handling them nicely. That's who I'm rooting for now that the Brewers are out. Because they're not the Phillies and because they're not Boston. They're also vs "that other team from Chicago I could care less about". Must make sure Chicago goes nowhere.

Re: Woo Phillies!
Pulling for the Rays and the Phils now. The Phils look poised to take the NL this year. I don't see the Dodgers keeping up their run. As far as the world series goes, yeah I'll worry about that when it happens.
And my team had a major f up this year too. I can't believe the way Arizona played this year, it was pitiful. They were on fire at the beginning of the year, and just completely fell apart. Even Webb had a streak of 3-4 bad starts. I still think he deserves the Cy Young over Lincecum though, but that's probably just my biased talking. Everyone knows Sabathia would have gotten it had he pitched a full season even close to the way he pitched since coming to the NL. |

Re: Woo Phillies!
If CC had pitched all year the way he did with the Brew crew, it would be a no brainer for the Cy Young. 11-2 in what, 14, 15 starts? 7 CG, 3 shutouts, 1.96 ERA (i think that's it, going off memory here). Those are Cy Young caliper numbers if you ask anyone who knows anythign about baseball.

Re: Woo Phillies!
I'm just worried about the Phil's offense. The scored 0 runs against the weakest bullpen in the league. They need to wake up if they intend on competing with Manny and the Dodgers. And they have good starting pitching too. Arguably better than the Phil's starters. Utley and Howard have both been pitiful in the playoffs. They need to become factors if Philly is going to beat the Dodgers, much less win the series.

Re: Woo Phillies!
Good pitching beats good hitting, and the Dodgers are the best in the NL in ERA (starting and bullpen).
Runs are going to be hard to come across for the Phils against sinker ball pitchers like Lowe and Kuroda because the Phils pretty much depend on that homerun to get things happening. And c'mon, the Dodgers completely shut down the Cubs all three games. 6 runs in 3 games for the most 'potent offense' in the league. I'm not knockin' the Phils' offense, but it's arguably not as good as the Cubs, and look what Dodger pitching did to them. |

Re: Woo Phillies!
I know I've heard somewhere that the Phils have the best bullpen in the league, not the Dodgers.
And I think the Cubs hitting sucked more than the Dodgers pitching ruled. I think the NLCS will be a big pitchers' duel. And if the Phil's bats don't wake up the Dodgers have a good chance of going to the series.

Phils rule you know nothing. They can beat anybody the AL has to offer.
