when going to see a profile, it says, 'profile closed', have i been blocked, or is the persons account cancelled or what?

Anyways...I believe it is because that particular person checked the "Hide profile to all" option.

The person might have their profile blocked from other users.

lol that seems awfully random. so they can still be on your friends lists and such, but nobody can see their profile....interesting

Ya, users can block to everyone if they so wish.

Its not currently tied to the friend list ..
