Do vocals add to the BPM of a song?
I was just wondering.
An acqaintance of mine insists that they do, but if that's the case, many rap songs and other songs like Kagerow (Dragonfly) should be a blazing 200+ bpm. That's an exaggeration, but will someone please help me with this? |

Vocals don't add to the BPM of the song. If the lyrics sound faster than the music, they're on 8th or 16th notes.
