Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [MAR/APR OPEN - Extended for Monstercat event!
Well, in my desire to get a whole variety of different types of files into FFR, I realized I didn't have a very long file in FFR.
My longest is All your base are belong to ME at 4:20, followed by Clash on the Big Bridge, EternuS, and... Kyuin. So I figured I'd step a marathon file. Wound up choosing a nice 5:40 song, which is in the top 15 longest public files. Stepping it is really fun, and makes for a nice break from studying. It's fun to try to keep a long file interesting the whole way through. Pattern variation means a lot more than it does in a 2:00 long file; not a challenge I usually have to think this deeply about. I will have it done in time to switch it into the extended April batch and move one of my previously submitted files to the hard batch. Then after finals I can focus on the rest of the hard batch, such as a certain restaurant.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [MAR/APR OPEN - Extended for Monstercat event!
I am new to stepping, so bear with me for a moment. I just finished my step of Nanobii's Rainbow Road, and I am currently stepping Next Big Thing by Throttle. Both are monstercat songs, because I started when I saw the post, but my question is where exactly I'm supposed to submit the songs and if I should include anything besides the .sm and the song itself.

I'm having a problem here.. :c
I can't seem to convert my sm into dwi. I tried OpenITG (open save close) and it didn't work. Tried Stepmania 5, didn't work. Tried Stepmania 3.9, didn't work either. Why? |

If you save in the Stepmania 3.9 editor of the song in question, then you'll automatically save both a .sm and .dwi file.
Also, you can just create a .dwi file manually by using Notepad (make sure to put the .dwi extension at the end of your file and save as "All Files", or else you'll just make a .txt file). Find an existing .dwi file from another song for reference on how to structure it in Notepad. |

Sooo is there an ETA on notes for jan/feb? I saw razor's post about his avg and all that, so I was wondering whether or not they were getting finished in the foreseeable future.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [MAR/APR OPEN - Extended for Monstercat event!
Are they going to be finished before the extended Mar/April batch closes? (i.e. in the next three days?)
That would be really nice, so that we have the chance to resubmit files into this batch.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [MAR/APR OPEN - Extended for Monstercat event!
right now, there's 7/10 judges completed with their parts, with two full sets and a half set missing (although one of the full sets will likely get done in the next day or two given who it is).
The timing on this batch just flat out sucked for a lot of people; even I barely made the cutoff as a judge thanks to life. |

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 [MAR/APR OPEN - Extended for Monstercat event!
uuuh...
I really don't get it. The game still doesn't save as dm and dwi, although it clearly says "Saved as SM and DWI files." I think it has to do with my hard drive having admin issues, even when I remember myself removing any admin blocking stuff. EDIT : Nope. Granted admin access to everything again and stepmania still doesn't let me save as dwi, even after manually creating a blank one. *sigh* ... Last edited by chiliman93; 05-10-2014 at 01:24 PM.. |

Are you using Windows Vista/Windows 7? If so, look up "compatibility files" on Google and see if you find your stuff in there.
