Re: Do Men have it Easier?
I've read about mean who wear skirts. Not kilts, but regular skirts. There are a few men who really enjoy the feeling and some aren't ashamed to wear them. The sad part is that most men are ashamed to wear them and understandably so. I can't imagine the harsh jokes and criticism they receive about wanting to wear a skirt.
So there is +1 for it being harder to be a man. |

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
Girls get to express their fashion in more ways possible than men
If men have 10 accessories, women can wear 50. Why do you think all the marketing in malls is centered around women clothing / accessories and men's clothing off to the corner? |

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
I believe men have it easier. The white male is dominate in American society, so they have it easiest. Women get paid less than men do in the workplace and are still seen in commercials as a stay at home mother doing laundry and dishes. No matter of race and gender, people should be treated equally. We all work hard for the money we bring home (with the exception of celebrities), and I believe that should be corrected. I won't even get started on the whole "ideal woman" should look like.

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
Women don't make a move until they're ready. They can be with a guy for two years and spend the last 6 months trying to get over the guy so that when they're ready to move on, they just move on. Guys are totally different, when they break up they do if fast, but they can spend years trying to get over the girl because usually they don't think it through.

Though girls are more emotional, I think this is more of a personal experience. Everyone handles a break up differntly.

What's retarded about it? Devonin didn't delete it, so I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with it. It actually has a lot of really good points on both sides.

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
The "hardships" that are specific to each gender are so inconsequential that they're practically negligible. I think having to make the first move and having discomfort and pain a few days of every month are hardly the largest things people need to worry about.

there are different factors that make up this debate making it relatively difficult to argue. if you take an "ideal" society where everyone is equal, you can eliminate all of the sociocultural aspects that set men and women apart. however, in any given culture or society the issue is going to be treated differently. biologically, however, the differences are concrete. personally i'd say the menstrual cycle and giving birth are more inconvenient than what males deal with regularly. |

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
It was just a suggestion, take it or leave it.
Luxury my ass. Looking over children is hard work. Women have to cook meals, clean the house, do laundry, and what if little Timmy is sick? She has to give extra care to him, while making sure Matthew doesn't get into the sink cabinet and start drinking cleaning solutions.

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
Just to clarify a misapprehension a number of people seem to be under: Men can be raped by women just as easily as they can be raped by other men, and anally is not the only way.

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
True, but the consequences are frequently less severe as when men rape women. As well, men labeled as "rapists" typically have much worse social stigma attached to it than women do, because if a man gets raped, he is expected to man-up, no pun intended, and accept it, and, typically, he'll hide how he's really feeling so that people don't look down upon him. Women have the right to show that they're feeling depressed about a horrible accident, and, thus, the man gets labeled for causing somebody severe emotional distress. Is it fair? No. Is it true? Most of the time.

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
Yes, for the rapist, that's what I was referring to. You're right, it's not different if the person being raped is male or female, it's still something awful, and it's unfair to judge that a male should take it less severely than a female. However, society has a tendency to see that males should have an easier time dealing with emotional trauma, and this bias makes it even harder to deal with. Because of all the crap added on top of it, I'd say it can be much worse for a male to deal with being raped.

Re: Do Men have it Easier?
Men should enjoy the fact that some women care enough to rape them, even up the ass.
Side effects to getting raped: Men Ass pain Emotional damage Ridicule Women Ass/Vagina pain Emotional damage Ridicule(?) Abortion/Baby (and Baby is a massively inconvenient side effect) Execution (depending on where you live) I don't see the equality, additions are welcome. |
