How to get announcers?

Ok I have been trying to get the announcers to work on stepmania for like an hour now. I download the zipped folder then extract all from the downloaded folder into the announcer folder in the stepmania folder. After doing this it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Go to options in the Main Menu> Appearance options> and switch the announcer on.
