It takes a lot to get me to something something and on that same page, it also takes a lot for me to do mumble mumble mumble something, so in any case, Obama mutter mutter something mumble.

Re: Black guy beats girl
The election we're facing now is actually one where Obama would have the power to make more change than any democratic administration since the '60s. The democratic Congress this year, from the most modest to the most outrageous predictions, should easily achieve victory if current trends hold regardless of the winner of the presidency. As far as Obama's role goes, the power of the executive branch has been increased significantly under the Bush administration and would allow for a dramatic amount of influence that could not have been feasible in past democratic administrations of the last several decades.

I love threads like this.
The irony of so many things coming to a head, and people being indignant if anyone suggests what they believe is wrong. The people having no idea what the party to claim to support is really supposed to be about. It's just so ludicrous. I'm tempted to just say "lolpolitics", but even that wouldn't wholly convey the message I'd be aiming for. And what the **** are people thinking? Seriously. LOL LETS REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH LOL LETS INVADE ISRAEL OR SOMETHING

The wealth distribution was a jokey way of pointing out that I think socialism is a slippery slope, and I think it's absurd that people actually think it's a good idea. The comment about Israel was to point out not only that invasion of foreign nations is a bad idea but also that most people are ****ing clueless when it comes to the middle east.

Re: Black guy beats girl
Your hyperbole could either have been a mockery of what you view to be commonly held beliefs or a mockery of beliefs through similar reasoning held in those beliefs. Regardless I was responding to the point behind the hyperbole, not the hyperbole itself, obviously.
Quote:
As far as your view of socialism is concerned, I think you're attacking a strawman of socialism instead of what socialism tends to be in practice, such as democratic socialism. There are multiple socialist nations that have fairly market-driven economies and others that are top-down as I'm sure you know. The notable ones with higher HDI values, however, are market-driven democratic socialist nations, such as Norway. The only current socialist in the senate, Bernie Sanders, does not follow the thought patterns of what I imagine you think a socialist does. |

People need to stop believing what they hear. Nothing will be different if either of them gets elected. Obama can't do anything he promised and neither can McCain. They're both lying scum trying to get you to believe that they have superhuman positive traits through manipulation. People like you are easy targets apparently. I'm not a rebel, I'm just disgusted that the Presidential race has basically become a competition of who can lie the best and be the richest.

Okay, well, look at it this way - At least Obama SAYS he's against the gas tax. McCain does not. That's the difference.

Yes Afro we know the President is merely a facade to cover up the "real" Government and blah blah blah.
Just vote for Obama so we can be done with this. |

But you are right. The president has little power over the things which are generally used as a basis for who to elect. The only reason to elect a president based on those things alone would be so that Congress can get things done more easily. Quote:

You know, you could probably post that in every thread I've ever posted in and still be accurate.
