Noteskin Poll - Page 4

I've decided. We're taking out arrows (but not until the end of the 6-key tournament).

While I do take into consideration others' opinions, I feel that ultimately I am making the right decision.

I weighed my options thoroughly, and I do have to stand my own ideals before anything else. I have an idea of where I want this to go, and I can't have popular opinion be the guide of everything I do. Arrows have directional influence, which makes no sense with spread play, which this is exclusively. I wanted this game, above all, to be the first game MADE FOR keyboard, and not adapted from a different game.

I want to give my players as many options as possible, but as much as I love that, anything in conflict with my main goal will have to be sacrificed, and in this case, it is the arrow noteskin.

I don't want people associating pad games with this one, because it certainly isn't a pad game. You wouldn't put arrows in Guitar Hero, IIDX, or Pop'n, so why put it in this new game?

If I alienate a fraction of my players, then that will have to do. I can't please everyone. However, I am confident that this will not be detrimental in the long run. Most people in this poll said they were okay with switching noteskins. In the end, I will be creating my own fan base anyways, so I don't need to leech too much off FFR.

In good time, things will fall together, and this decision will become trivial. I don't want to see a bunch of people all falling apart because of a little disagreement.

Ultimately, we all love rhythm gaming, and we all love this game. In the end, I think that's what matters most.

Sorry Star but this truly is the WORST quote for running a business I have EVER heard... this denies ALL logical thought based on business practice.

Let Blast make an engine that has arrowed skins that can be distributed to the players who rely on arrows for their ability to play... ;_;

-I do not want arrows at all.
-I want to have the option to use arrows.
-I only want arrows.

This is actually a new idea. I might actually consider it. As long as something is hidden and out of the way then I don't think I should have a problem with it.

This poll won't work because everyone will pick 2 and 3.

In most people's mind there is no reason to at least allow for choice of the arrow noteskin, but that is not what I'm aiming for.

Well, sucks you are taking out the arrows. This thing came and died for me awfully fast. Guess im just sticking with SM solo now. >_>

Let me get this straight:
There will be two separate engines of which the only difference will be that one has arrows and one doesn't. (They will both get the same new songs and updates.) If so, I am fine with that.

Both will get the songs, since they are updated on the site.

However, only the main game will have updates, as it's very difficult to update a game that you distribute exclusively.

No it's not haha. The distribution can have a auto-update feature. Very simple to implement. I seen a buddy use that for a flash game he created at his house and the game would auto-update for everyone in our computers class as he finished new things at home. I would bank on Blast knowing an easy solution for an auto-update for distributed engines.
