Cool Metal effects for guitar

I want to buy a Metal distortion pedal for my guitar, what do you recommend me? Is good an used one?

Also, if you wanna go the extra mile, look into pickup replacements. Throwing almost any DiMarzio in your bridge with huge treble output + a decent effects pedal (Metal Zone works perfectly) will sound absolutely beastly.
