A Dangerous Walk In The Park
I'm writing this short little story about one of my past experiences where I was in a dangerous position. So I hope you enjoy it.
A Dangerous Walk In The Park The bell rang so I got up from my desk and walked out of my eighth period class, Social Studies. I walked to my locker, twisted in the combination, and opened it up putting my social studies books onto the shelf next to the math books. I gathered up my homework, or at least the homework I was going to do, and threw it into my book-bag(not literraly), and closed my locker. Walking down the hallway, to the stairs, and out the door. It was raining, but not too hard. So I decided to walk to my grandmothers house instead of call for a ride. The quickest way(and the safest) was through the park, rather than the alley. So I began to walk mildly fast through the rain and to the park. As I passed the park gates and entered the park, I noticed a few kids hiding in the dug-out of the baseball field. They didn't look like your typical athlete. And the park always had a few pot smokers by the gates so I figured they went and took shelter in the dug-out. I walked by them looking only once into the dug-out without stopping and then moved on. I walked through the park past the basketball courts, pass the softball field, and around the tennis courts. Now all I had to do was climb the monsterous hill ahead of me and I would be free and out of the park because the gates were on the other side. So I grinned a little and started walking up the hill. "Just a short ways now." I thought. Then I decided to throw on a little twist to it. So I said grinning "Just a short ways Mr. Frodo." Finally! I made it to the top of the hill. The longest and most boring part of this short little "journey" was almost over. I walked down the hill and then stopped. It felt like I just stepped on something...so I lifted up my shoe and saw it. The brown and mushed feces of a dog. "Nice..." I said annoyed. Then I stopped again. I looked ahead of me and by the gates were a few kids. At least six or seven. All teenagers to. They weren't wearing the same kinds of clothes so I didn't assume they were a gang. Otherwise, I would have tunred around and left the park some other way. These kids looked like your typical mix between an emo-punk/skater. They were smoking as well. I couldn't turn back because then they'd spot me and probably do stuff to harrass or annoy me. So I decided to walk through them. I walked down the hill towards the gate. I looked straight ahead and not at any of them as I tried to think of a way to talk my self out of it if they stopped me. I felt my heart pound as I got closer to the gate. I walked through the gate and past them, silent. One looked at me for a second then just kept talking to his friends. I didn't think to look back, or to even think how lucky I was. I was actually dissappointed. Dissappointed that I judged them as a bad group of kids. Not that they weren't, I mean, they were smoking. Whatever it was that they were smoking. They weren't the type of kids that were looking for trouble. So that was good. I walked to my grandmothers house and finnished the day by playing a rousing game of FFR. The End
