Editor Problem
I have a weird problem... I just started editing simfiles with stepmania. I followed the guide on the stepmania faq and I made a song. It plays just fine on my stepmania (although it's a little off beat at time s xD) but the problem comes when I try to share it. I found out that for some reason the .sm file for my song is empty. I save the song and steps on the editor, and the song always comes up with steps in my stepmania, but even my .sm is empty
I thought then that stepmania had made a simfile on it's own and wasn't using the blank that I put in (the faq said to put a blank in) so I looked for it. The problem was that the only place I could find .sm files was in the songs folder, and in the songs folder, there was only 1 .sm per song I had. So my stepmania is somehow generating steps from a blank .sm file for any songs that I edit myself. This makes no sense though so does anyone have an explanation for me? I'd like to share my stepfiles sometimes . note: if you wanna check out the empty .sm find my song "Listen to Your Heart" by DJ Cammy in the simfile database. I don't know if the song works on other people's stepmania. |

Re: Editor Problem
yes, why does vista screw with stepmania?
update: ok so I looked more into the faqs of stepmania and I found a thing called stepmania tools. I used the thing to export my song (listen) to a smzip. Then I took the smzip and applied it to my computer. I replaced w/e was there and boom the song was gone from my program files song list -_-. I opened stepmania and found the song in there tho. So I surfed around a little more and I found that stepmania had been basically dumping all the info for my songs into a different location: the appdata folder for stepmania -_-. So now I found my song and got everything fixed. I'll reupload the song on ffr~ thx Last edited by Dae314; 11-4-2009 at 04:23 PM.. |
