Re: Decent techno music, looking for feedback
I will review those two songs on Newgrounds (I'm Shamukh).
Listening to Failure is Impossible, and it sounds a bit dimrain-esque and lacking. I'll get into it on Newgrounds.

Re: Decent techno music, looking for feedback
Good god, you do sound like Dimrain O_O. Note that this is in a good way, though.
Well, for your genre (which I interpret as happy/hardcore), it lacks depth. I recommend that you use my three fundamental parts of a song (excluding standard percussion): Bassline, supporting instruments, and melody. It makes excellent songs near perfect, makes okay songs sound good, and makes crappy songs sound less crappy. If anything, definitely add a bassline. Also, most if not all of your songs are shorter than two minutes. Try making your songs longer, but not at the expense of style and quality. Other than that, you have a nice style. Keep making songs. |

Quality over quantity. Take as long as you need, just make the song sound good.

Now, to add on to what PBT said, you definitely need an underbelly for the song (generally, subbass [i.e. a sine wave eq'd below 200 hertz], and pads, sweeps, effects, things to brighten up the track). You need more consistent percussion, and possibly more of a progression, rather than just bringing your percussion in and out haphazardly. Mainly, you need to stray from presets (e.g. the reason why I said your music was Dimrain-esque, beside the fast bpm). Learn the frequency spectrum, and EQ every sound you use accordingly. Learn your effects (really basic effects in techno are reverb and delay). Beyond that, it's all what you think personally sounds best. Best of luck to you!

One example of my previous statement is Crank That by Soulja Boy. I can barely identify the bassline in that song. When Travis Barker remixed it, it sounded about 10 times better. Look the Travis Barker remix up on Youtube. |

Re: Decent techno music, looking for feedback
Most of them seem plain. They all need more to it to make it seem more intresting instead of hearing the beat and one noise.

I hope you realize that both of those songs are nowhere near the topic of discussion.
