Trauma Center: Second Opinion / New Blood
They're both good. One has multiplayer, the other has a better plot. Amazing games from start to finish. Zack and Wiki Probably the best Wii game on the market. Watch reviews for it if you haven't heard of it: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/re...ack-wiki/26917 Generic choices: Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros. They're good. You probably know everything about them already. I'd recommend staying away from Mario Kart and Red Steel as they're both very poorly-designed games. |

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
Mario Kart isn't as bad as Squeek says, but it is probably the worst of the series as far as gameplay mechanic goes.
As for games worth checking out, I'd add Super Paper Mario. Good, silly, and unique 2-D RPG game. Don't go into it expecting the a platforming game, though. Just look for silly RPG. I also have heard great things of the Wario Land game, but I haven't gotten around to picking it up myself. As a plus, it seems to have made decent use of the shake feature in a logical and not annoying way (i.e., I hated the way Super Mario Galaxy made use of it). However, I'm still pissed off that Nintendo used that concept to deliver a new Wario Land game instead of a new Yoshi's Island. **** Wario Land, I wanna shoot eggs and ****. At least we have New Super Mario Bros. coming. Hopefully that turns out well. But where is my Yoshi's Island Wii game? What is wrong with Nintendo? You give a DS Yoshi's Island game, but no Wii one? **** DS, you know I don't portable gaming!

Mario Kart sucks ass. Zelda TP is good. I'm suprised anyone hasn't said SSBB yet? But my favorite two games are Guitar Hero 3, and for some reason, Need For Speed Undercover. >_>

I personally loved Excite Truck, I heard they also made a sequel which seems more silly than serious but also recieved good reviews.
Still haven't beaten Super Excite mode Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 06-15-2009 at 09:55 AM.. |

Squeek said "Smash Bros." so if that wasn't enough for you:
Yeah, go get Super Smash Bros. Brawl right now. One of the few games that gets the fact that not every game needs stupid ass waggle **** forced upon the player.

Madworld? I dunno I haven't actually gotten around to playing it, but it looked fun. Ask these guys though, they tend to know more about Wii then me.

Mario Kart can be frustrating but I still find it fun. It probably causes me to rage the most out of any game I play.
I still haven't played Tales of Symphonia but I'm guessing a lack of endorsement from Squeek implies it wasn't up to snuff. :P

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
I've had my Wii since launch and the best games I've played on it so far would be
- Twilight Prince xD - SUper Paper Mario *actually really fun* - brawl is great - super mario galaxy is very fun *I had pneumonia last year and rented it, good time killer* eh thats all I can think of for now, there's a few other good wii games but sadly not many |

You mean Virtual Console and Wii Ware? As far as Wii Ware is concerned, I went to the trouble of getting the Dr. Mario game on there. If good old Dr. Mario is what you're looking for, it's damn good. If you're aiming for old classics, you can't go wrong with most of the "top selling" or whatever their category for popular **** is on there. Isn't it considered uncool to pay for emulated roms of old games though?

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
FFIV: The After Years on Wii Ware, if you liked the original FFIV and don't mind gba style of graphics.
I wonder why they didn't make it for the DS though since it would be more fitting for the DS. Hopefully they'll redo it in 3D for the DS.

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
I highly recommend Twilight Princess (adventure) and Mario Galaxy (platformer). (Both bad replay value but w/e)
For multiplayer, pick up Brawl (fighting). Might as well, ya know? I also liked No More Heroes (action/adventure), Okami (action/adventure), and Guitar Hero World Tour (rhythm).

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
Madworld is not an "amazing" game... if you're entertained by incredibly vulgar conversations and brutal ways to kill people you'll love it. It's not very fast paced, but you'll probably have fun if you can get used to it. 6/10
No More Heroes is hilariously vulgar with fast paced brutality. Some side missions are too hard; failing them takes only seconds, and you can't try again until it reappears. Grand Theft Auto style area, but you don't steal cars or kill random people; however there are enough bad guys to satisfy any bloodthirsty rage. 9/10 Rubik's World is a virtual 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 Rubik's cube thrown into a bunch of other very entertaining puzzles. It has a music-making section, as well as building, matching, shooting, and more. Awesome game, you'll have to think though. 8/10 Resident Evil 4 is the best game ever. 10/10 Wii Play is Wii Sports, with more games. It doesn't look impressive at first, and maybe it never will, but I started to like it. The ping pong is a let-down, matching Mii poses into bubbles is annoying, finding Miis in a crowd is only fun when you and your friends are panicking to find the bastards, and the fishing is slightly less boring than any other fishing-related piece of crap. The pool is fun, but you can't play pool, you can only ever play 9-ball. Racing a cow while trying to knock down scarecrows is amazingly fun. The "laser hockey" (air hockey) only gets fun when you start to get good at it, so practice before you give up. The shooting range is like heaven with a gun, and the tank game is ****ING FUN. Getting bronze/silver/gold/platinum medals is of course the only goal in the game, but that's enough for me. 7/10 |

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
I would only suggest getting Wii Play if you want a second Wiimote. Not a good game, but if you consider the cost of just a Wiimote, the game only costs like 10 bucks or something.

I got Wii Play with the Wiimote brand new off the internet for $30. It's like they paid me to own the game.

Re: Purchased a wii, and now i need games.
Yeah so Far from what ive heard im thinking of getting No More Heroes, Mad World, Super Paper Mario, and Brawl. Some of these of wanted for a while but had no wii (always wanted brawl of course). Might be picking up some of those puzzle games mentioned. Anyways i do plan on building up a collection as soon as my pay allows it.
Thanks FFR and keep it up i would like to hear more. P.S. I have purchased a few classic games already to tide me over till i can get some new games, and i was thinking about purchasing some of the gamecube games that they added wii controls to (probably pikman or however its spelled cause i loved that game when i played it at my friends house). |
