Re: Ingame Song Information
I really dislike the comments in thread.
Everyone complains about how easy a song is because... A. That person AAAed it B. 50 other people AAAed it C. Theirs nothing hard about it, just not so many people have AAAed it Many fail to see how a correct rating system should work, it's not just about how hard/easy a song is. /rant |

I've put good reasons up there and you guys haven't even responded to them except that I'm a bias ass. After reading my comments, I can somewhat see why you'd think that, because I post my score capabilities first and foremost in the posts, before examining the file. I also think my skill token thread posts have made you all think I'm bias and look only at how well I do. I'll stop doing that, and just examine the file. That may be true for the skill tokens, because I definitely think we need some more challenging tokens and less easy ones, as people are still complaining that Oni is no longer hard (Which I have never complained about, and I think ALL FMO's should get Oni), and since so many are whining that we need a new killer token, I was thinking of harder ones that are more of a challenge, sorry that they ended up impossible, but for difficulties, I try to look at the patterns, compare files, and not be bias. But previously, I used to be pretty good at examining difficulties of files, and made the lists for this thread (the old one) quite a few times and everyone was pretty happy with my ratings. I'll stop saying "I did this, I did that", but that doesn't change the fact that pattern wise, it's more simplistic than those aforementioned files. And guys, it's a discussion thread about a subjective matter, of course there will be arguments, quite getting so damn pissy about it jeez, sorry, but calm the hell down guys :/

Re: Ingame Song Information
Successful trolls are successful.
Also, your argument for making Master Maid a VC is similar to saying "Eradication isn't an FMO, it's just fast and has a few polyrhythms guys jeez." Sure, the rolls can be jumptrilled, and the file has no particularly difficult patterns, but it's fast and the amount of arrows in a given area is really dense which makes it both hard to read AND hard to play. It's a solid FMO, and just because some guy with a stick up his ass is currently under-rating a bunch of FMO's to VC's doesn't mean that Master Maid just suddenly dropped it's difficulty level. Re: Ingame Song Information
Songs need to be rated on their respective difficulties to PA and FC, not by how inherently easy the patterns are. Saying Master Maid should be a VC is completely ridiculous considering there's only 22 AAAs, and it's been out for a while. But sure, AAA count may be biased, so let's go to raw song difficulty.
Master Maid: 1465 notes, 128 seconds - 11.44 TPS, and this is with a LONG introduction to top it off. Some of the FGOs average around this many taps per second too. The rolls (mathematically) aren't possible to cheat, and the song boasts a ton of tricky patterns with constant broken jumpstream. Let's not forget the fact that there are four HUGE rolls, not just one. If Master Maid is a VC, then let's change songs like DeVouR to low FMOs because hey, they're just rolls, right? |

Re: Ingame Song Information
New post for newer songs:
RAN - damn hard for an 11 (83 if I ever saw it), possible borderline FGO, but someone without a bias towards difficulty increases on jacks should give this another look. Another issue with this song is the ridiculously varying framer placements. The notes per second doesn't do this song justice, because I'm sure where the difficulty is highest, it's probably peaking in the 14/15 area, which is pretty gross. Op. 10 No. 9 - easy 11 (76, or 77 factoring in the rigidity of the flow for jump-jacks and the short vibra-jacks), jacks are quite the combo-breaker though. Bury the Hatchet - change to 10 (73-75, subjectively movable for speed [75], or lack or difficult patterns [73], or a balance between the two [74]). Re: Ingame Song Information
I figure, it's really not worth butting heads with people anymore. I had my huge blow-up in the Queue/Batch discussion thread, took a few days off the site, and then came back with a much different mindset. Waging war with someone on the internet is pretty stupid to me, now. Disagreements are nice and speaking your mind is good, but blowing up for no reason really doesn't work anymore for me as the right thing to do.

Re: Ingame Song Information
Stavie I wouldn't have a problem with you suggesting difficulty rating but really every single rating I've seen you give harder songs was based on how well you could do on the song vs how well you could do on other songs.

Also, hope this isn't out of line, but who here thinks Floating Hour should be low FMO? Idk, it's up to you guys, clearly, but I think the mini jacks, bursts, weird colored parts, and annoying end make it a 76, but idk, I could see it a 75. Not to mention it has hands, and idk if we started using hands in VC files yet. If so awesome, if not, wut? EDIT: Wow, only Natural is a bitch too, that trill, but that could be a 75

Re: Ingame Song Information
RAN - some 32nd trills and jumpjacks (170bpm) are pretty difficult to hit, others aren't that hard though. 83-85, possible FGO.
Bury the Hatchet - looked it again, could be 74-75. |

Re: Ingame Song Information
Floating Hour was tough. I'm very surprised to have sightread that - it's very technical. Some of the 32nd bursts are pretty tricky as well. I'm all for putting that to a For Masters Only.
