Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Where's a good place to get more drum samples?
I use Sytrus a lot for the synths and stuff, but I'm sick of using Afterkill (I think it's called) And DrillNB. I've gotten really good at manipulating them, but I'm sick of hearing all my songs with the same few types of drum. Always screwed around with FL studio, for a long time, but I've been really making FL Studio stuff for 2 years now. I need some variety.

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
VIPzone has a pretty good selection of drum samples, that's where I got most of mine. I also used sliced loops from VEC's essential house samples or something
@cornandbeans, I have two questions: There are songs that have certain synths that go from a very dull, softer sound to a sharper, more piercing synth. Gradeus from FFR or Flaming June by BT are two examples I can think of.. I'm pretty sure this is caused by an LFO, since I've used synths like those in z3ta+ and the only constant I can see between them is an LFO filter. I can't seem to replicate it, though. How would I create this effect with other synths? I'm also considering buying a syntheziser, so I have something to work with outside of VSTs. Do you have any suggestions? I'm looking for something that'd be useful in club music, but not something that primarially focuses on saw synths or anything. I'm also trying to stay away from anything that's more than 200 dollars. Thanks in advance |

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Hi people!
I have a question, sometimes when Im creating sounds, in certain sounds there's some cracking sound thats really annoying and shouldnt be there, its a short crackng sound as if the speakers were damaged. I was wondering what could fix this, at first I thought it may be a problem of mine, but the sample project that came with fl studio (one that's named "what I found", some sort of techno house thingy music) also has that cracking sound all over it. I really doubt they didnt filter it before putting it as a sample. Also, it isnt the speakers because with earphones it can still be heard. Help? |

Other than that, it could just be clipping. Just make sure your sounds (or track for that matter) don't go above 0 dB.

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
Do you know anything about dblue Glitch VSTi? I have a semi-vivid understanding of FL (you can find some songs I've done on myspace.com/tehemissaries). I would like to fully edit the whole song directly through Glitch, but it seems I can't automate anything with it. The time frame also only seems to be limited to 16 beats before repeating the same effects. Is there a similar VSTi that allows automating? Otherwise, could you assist me with this one?
The problem is also stated in this thread: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=94833 EDIT: Here's a link to the .flp and here's a link to the VSTi The drum loop I sliced is inside FL8. Last edited by danny53x; 06-29-2008 at 11:12 PM.. |

He right clicks a knob (Mod X/Y, and Mute in this case) in the love philter and selects "Create automation clip" and then edits it within the playlist. Last edited by danny53x; 06-30-2008 at 11:13 PM.. |

Basically you can fit four measures on each number on the 'pattern bank' and use automation or Edit Events to switch between the bars during the song. There might be an easier way but I don't know it. :|

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
How would I automate with it? I can't right click anything... I guess I could try the record thing... but I really never use that. Could you demonstrate how you'd go about doing this? Also, anyone else is open to this subject.

I guess it just looks confusing because he overlaps them
And FX 11 is pretty far out there. I rarely get to those slots. When you get out there, you've probably done a lot of meticulous editing :P |

Re: Need help or tips with FL studio?
I have a question about the basic way FL works
let's say I want to create a song that has an irregular structure, like a rhapsody. very little of what I put in the song repeats. I don't want to have to use a separate pattern for each measure and stuff, so how would I simplify this?
