Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
I don't believe that at all, I was super shit at jacks and literally played only jack files for a long ass time until I was better lmao
Like right now I play tell v3, turbo, and grist, as well as zl on ffrmania every day until I'm back to where I was I was only playing js files for a while and now I'm pretty sure my jumpstream speed is better than when I was in my prime (but not my stamina rip) Quote:

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
My biggest issue for jacks is generating boos or missing the perfect window causing a good or average rush. Anyone else having the same issue? Arch0wl iirc has tips to improve on jacks if you want to ask him.

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
My issue is usually the opposite.... I miss the last arrow a lot of the time or if I do FC a long jack usually I'm too slow by the end of it and get a few goods.

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
Some people have physiological limitations.
Just because you were probably shit at jacks and now you aren't doesn't mean that's a possibility for others. :P I could play nothing but jack files all day every day and the only difference it'd make is I'd retire earlier from snapping a tendon (after 5 plays on turbo, I can't get more than 5 notes without a ripping, paralyzing numbness stabbing my right wrist and completely stopping all movement, feels strangely similar to being electrocuted. I'm done.) Last edited by Mourningfall; 06-11-2015 at 12:20 PM.. |

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
Personally the jump jacks are the worst for me in powerpoints.

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
I had to watch Powerpoints again just to see what the fuss was about. I currently have 6-0-2-0 on it and it is simply due to my keyboard never recognizes left arrow jacks at all. I think it falls into the border of "Very High 79", like Reality used to be the be-all-end-all 79 back in the day.
Jumpstream is a more common pattern than jacks are; and there are a lot of variances for both styles of patterning. Jack speed never seems to be the issue; as it is mostly a good, av, or boorush. Dealing with a file that revolves more around jacks is "out of the norm" for most players nowadays.

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
I'm good at jacks for my skill level but I'm not fast enough for Powerpoints. I guess I'm just consistent at the speeds I can handle.

Re: Squid and Puppy's Summer Vanilla Tourney
updated to here. also, for people that upload replays, do u mind putting what the raw score is underneath it so that i dont have to watch the entire thing to see the score/do the math to figure it out? i suck at math. dont like doing it. thanks.
edit: concerning powerpoints, i think what makes it so tricky is that the BPM is slower than you'd expect for how fast the jacks go. that, and you constantly have to switch your play style between jump streams and jacks throughout the song. overall, i do agree that it is hard to do for most people, but like any song, it isn't impossible, and i know all the D6'ers are more than capable of handling it. i beliv in all of u :P
