Also, if you could find Xenogears for cheap (I know my store sold it at $70 once but I was like "No way I'm buying this for that price"), that would actually awesome. I've always been pretty curious about that game, to tell the truth. Quote:

Re: Started building a retro game collection...
Psh I have both Fire Emblems [Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn] for GC and Wii in Very Good+ to Mint and they actually went up in value.
Could sell them both for a good chunk :> (~$50-60 each) but they are so much fun to play with friends who appreciate turn-based strategy :> (good ol' switching controller after each chapter strategy) also did you just call it Emplem lmfao? PS: Mad respect for having Earthbound... do you have it with the box? (and/or manual) PPS: Thinking my next buy is Ikaruga + DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3. RIP Money. Re: Started building a retro game collection...
Wait, whut? I really did type Emplem LOL. I'm so mad at myself for not buying it when I saw it at the store, I had no idea it was this rare. I saw it once and never saw it again. ;_;
@kiwi Glad at least you take care of them. :3 Last edited by MarioNintendo; 07-10-2012 at 01:28 PM.. |

Re: Started building a retro game collection...
@MarioNintendo: You do realise you're giving my childhood a kick in the nuts, when I was young in that era of games, judging games wasn't exactly high on my list.
Edit: Watched HVGN's review, and what I understood from it is that Genesis Sparkster isn't good enough to be worthy being called a sequel due to the bliss of the original Rocket Knight. On the other hand, as he well stated several times, it isn't a bad game, it just didn't live up to the expectations of the fanbase. Frankly, I was too young to have any real awareness of a fanbase other than my brother and a couple of friends who came over to play, 300 bucks is expensive when you're 8.

Re: Started building a retro game collection...
@Scintill
Ouch, man, I didn't want to hurt your youth! It's just that, when I was young, I had no idea there was a sequel to the original RKA. Mind you, RKA was the second game I ever played and knew it by heart - I really, really loved it. I didn't even know its title since I couldn't speak English or read at the time. I knew it as the yellow cartridge with a mouse on it (lol it's an opposum, whatever). When I heard the HVGN say in another review there was a sequel, I got super pumped and emulated it right away. I was just sooooo disappointed, that's the real truth. Sure, it might be a good game in its own right, but it didn't live up at all to the original, and that's why it ruined the whole experience for me. |

Re: Started building a retro game collection...
The controls look damn awful in the sequel and the sword reach is retarded lmfao
then again to truly give it my own judgement I'd have to properly play it. Seeing as I have NO interest in Sega Consoles, except the dreamcast, this is not going to happen. |

I'm not a huge fan of the Rocket Knight series, but I do know that the Sparkster on SNES is one of my favorite games for SNES
I liked the fast paced style to the genre. It was similar to Sonic, but there was much more action |
