Default Lunia

Looks like another game to try and knock MS off it's throne. But this looks a hell of a lot better than Trickster. O__O

Not just posting to bump so you dumbasses see this, but also...

I tried to DL the game and it just isn't working. Has anybody else tried and got it to work? I dunno if it's just not downloading cuz the beta is closed and isn't allowing more players or what, but I click the download link and nothing happens. =\

Your first video link is borked. You copied the shortened URL.

I'll probably give it a try if anyone gets it working.

Edit: It took a while, but I got the download started. Too bad I'm going to bed and I don't like leaving the computer on all night.

I'll just get up tomorrow and start it up before my exams.

I'll give this game a shot. It looks fancy. Some of the web site pages were terribly designed, but who looks at game documentation off the main site?

Haha, yeah, the website design sucks. Whose bright idea was it to put character models behind text without a washout? GG unreadable text.

I still haven't decided on my class, but I've been feeling warriorish lately.

My only fear is that there is no "male" healer, I don't want to play a girl character. In which case, I have to decide between Warrior and Mage. =\

Wow. That actually looks pretty kick-ass. It's like a mix of Gauntlet and MS from what I've seen. I can't do anything right now because I'm at school but I'll probably download it and give it a try when I come back from my Senior Farewell Chorus Concert tonight.

I finished the download. It was corrupt. ~_~

I don't have the time to download it again before my finals. Ugh.

And when I finish my finals, I'm going to a friend's house. Dsfargeg.

ps - if the site is too bogged down, try this direct download link: ftp://211.63.135.31/lunia/download/L...0705081900.exe

And make sure your file size matches the one here. Looks like ~890MB. Mine was only 750 for whatever reason.

Dl'ing as we speak.

I agree with Chromer, it looks a lot like Gauntlet mixed with maplestory, and some oldschool diablo as well as a bit of Shining Tears. Anyone else seeing that?

Anyway, Warrior type guy for sure, the rest look rather dumb.

For whatever reason, it just decides to stop downloading no matter where you get the link.

I don't understand. It's like LOL I'LL TRANSFER A HECK OF A LOT OF INFORMATION AND THEN stop.

Wow, this game did a little better than Global Maple Story's first day.

I mean, for Maple Story, no one could be on for any more than 5 minutes at a time and if you typed the "?", the game would crash. Everyone was trying to ask each other how to play but the next thing they knew, they crashed.

The problem with this game is the starting area. You get a couple quests and two bars worth of XP talking to people. You are given three quests to go kill monsters. Problem is, I can't find where to exit the town, much less find and kill said monsters.

Another problem I found was the lack of a friend's list or screen options. When I alt+tab, I don't want my resolution to be 600x800.

Worse yet, it's hard to figure ANYTHING about your character. You're given a spell book, too bad none of the spell descriptions are there to tell you what each one does. Same goes with stats, how can I plan a stat build (assuming I get stats every level to spend) if I don't know what my character might need.

Here are some pictures:

~Tsugomaru

PS - I found 6 spelling errors total. Two are in the images. Icon doesn't count.

Once again, another complaint of mine. It only zooms in like that when you check your inventory. This may pose a problem while adventuring because I often check my inventory while moving in a game.

DL worked for me, and Tsu, you can play through the tutorial and level a bit + get starting items, at least that's what i've done with my warrior.

Anyway, is their only one server at the moment? I think there is, right? But what's the deal with picking what square? maybe there's four servers... if so, I picked square 2, which was "smooth" at the time.

anyway, I'll try playing a bit more, see what happens.

P.S: I can't even alt+tab out of the game, it simply won't let me.

What if I just decide to keep my inventory open so it always looks like that?

@Observer try hitting the window key or ctrl+alt+del then alt+tab.

I downloaded and played this when it opened and i must say it is really great.

The problems you guys are having with the text not showing up for descriptions is something to do with your computer and there is a manual patch for the text problem somewhere. Only seems to happen to some computers. Mine was absolutly fine with the descriptions and everything.

And lol there is no exit for the town silly. you press the start button to enter a stage or pvp etc. That town is just a town for getting your party and selling and buying junk.

The game is pretty much a beat em up. each stage has a poorly done cutscene made in flash with speech bubbles that don't fix the text. You pretty much justt get from one place to another with friends or random people and try to survive your way through hoards of monsters and the usual boss at the end and sometimes a midboss to accomany it.

It's what you would expect from a beatem up with rpg elements. You can do dashes and your physical attacks are A for normal attacks and D for "power" attacks and space bar for your hit em while their down atacks. You can do a various amount of combos and such with these buttons and your skills are also assigned to your hot keys which you can mix in with your combos.

I actually really like this game due to the fact that the hit detection for attacking your character is spot on. you can actually dodge attacks and shiz without that annoying "invisible hit" type thing.

This game has alot of problems and is really not worth playing yet until the open beta as the closed will proberly leave a bad taste in your mouth.

The main reasons would be the lag and the disconnections. the lag has been making moving and hitting extremly clunky and somtimes you will move into the same position as you were before moving because of this lag.

Another is the fact that the server disconnects you all the time seriously i play 3 stages and i usually get disconnected. When you get disconnected everything is like you never even played the stage you started. so if you leveled up or got some rare ****ing loot like i did. Tough **** you lost it.

The "story" cutscene and gameplay text is also pretty unreadable at some point due to the text not fitting the bubbles and some clashing with the background.

So yeah i stopped playing this at level 8 so i could fully savor the experience without remembering this annoyance leaving a bad taste.

The game itself is brilliant and i love it but sadly it is not really playable at the moment with such a crappy server. I will definatly play the game but not until open beta when hopefully shiz is sorted out. Also the fact it's in closed beta means that your character is gonna get erased at the end of may.

Save yourself from the annoyance of the closed beta test but definatly start playing when the open beta starts.

I guess I'll give it a shot. I'm downloading it for the third time and it's at 96%, so it should finish any second now.

This time, it really is giving me all 893MB.

I think I've got this all figured out. You can ONLY level in groups, which pisses me off. I'm not very fond of party-only leveling because I hate it when I'm grouped with a bunch of morons who doesn't know what they are doing. I suppose the only way this game will survive for me is if more FFR people play or there's an alternative method of leveling.
