The Conquerer of Shambala

Basically, it's a Fullmetal Alchemist movie taking place 2 years after the end of the series. Long story short: something happens which opens a gateway between the world of alchemy and the world of science. Ed and Al work from both ends in effort to reunite. Definitely worth seeing for anyone who followed the show. I found the ending to be really good, even though there are some things I would have changed. And I think the dub is out now on DVD. I say this because the sub I got was really ****ty and the subs cut out at certain parts and other parts repeated subs from earlier in the movie. I also wouldn't be surprised if Adult Swim airs it soon. I wouldn't count on it, though. It really is worth seeing, so long as you had at least a passing interest in the show. I really don't think people who never saw the show would be able to get into this movie.

lololol Page 23 and from before the VB switch (meaning the search won't find it), so I don't really care. |

Re: The Conquerer of Shambala
Dude I don't even know what Shambala is after watching it.
It really doesn't make a difference, honestly. |

Re: The Conquerer of Shambala
Shambala is what the people in the world of science believe to be on the other end of the gateway. In reality, it's Ed's home world-- the world of alchemy. In the movie, Shambala is a Garden of Eden of sorts it seems. The conquerer of Shambala is presumeably the individual who tried to attack what they believe to be Shambala.
And yeah, I did a quick search for "Fullmetal Alchemist movie" and got nothing, so I assumed it hadn't come up. How on Earth did you find that thread if it doesn't turn up on search queries?

Re: The Conquerer of Shambala
I had a rough idea of how long ago I saw the movie and posted it and started looking page-by-page for the title.
I have to do this for a lot of old threads so I'm quite used to it. |

Re: The Conquerer of Shambala
I really like the film. I wasn't too pleased with the ending of the series, not because it was a bad ending but because of what happens. That's probably why I like this film so much. You gave the ending away by mistake though Afro, for people who can put two and two together like.

Re: The Conquerer of Shambala
totally off topic, but Seth, this question is killing me.
Where are those characters from in your sig? (Girl on the barrel, dude and chick looking at her.) The logo in the top left SORT of looks like Skies of Arcadia, but I'm not sure.
