Lead singers
What lead singer do you think has the best voice out of all the bands that you have ever heard.
I think ist Daniel Gildenmow (im not sure how to spell it) from Pain Of Salvation. |

Re: Lead singers
Kai Hansen is my favorite. Not necessarily the best voice but more than adequate.

Re: Lead singers
What group is he from?
The next best (in my opinion) is the lead singer in Opeth And the absolute worst voice I have ever heard is the lead singer to Blind Gaurdian. |

Re: Lead singers
He's in Gamma Ray and he used to be in Helloween.
And I'd have to strongly disagree about Hansi of Blind Guardian.

Re: Lead singers
The lead singer in AC/DC is pretty bad.
Same can be said for the lead singer of Dragonforce. Plus, the lead singer of Pain Of Salvation is supposedly a 1 in 1,000,000,000,000 musical genious |

Re: Lead singers
Damnit Mal, I was reading through, hoping that no one was going to post that.
Freddy Mercury is the best vocalist ever. |

Apart from him I would have to say Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree/I.E.M/Bass Communion/Blackfield and more) who can sing a hell of a lot of different ways. Finally it would have to be Mike Patton, come on a guy who can sing in Faith No More/Fantomas/Mr Bungle/Tomahawk and also do solo stuff and all of it is completely different. He can go from metal to avant-garde and then back to strange music. Just listen to his two solo albums to hear what he can do with his voice. |

Re: Lead singers
Oh yeah, I forgot Chris Cornell. Back in the day, that man could wail out those high notes. He kinda lost it in the mid 90's, but he can still sing.
I still stand by Ed Vedder. His voice is often imitated, but never duplicated. He's an amazing and versatile singer.

Re: Lead singers
hahahaha Timedisort you can not be serious? Geddy Lee has an awful voice that sounds strained and far too high, the only reason I barely listen to Rush is because of his voice.

Re: Lead singers
I dunno, that's kind of a hard choice...
Jimmy Urines style is awesome, when he's ****ing around and when he's singing seriously he sounds great. Annie Haslam just sounds awesome period. Kevin Gibson (of Tub Ring) sounds great too. I dunno, it's a throw of the dice 8(

Re: Lead singers
Adagio is good, but they lost a lot of my respect with the "Dominate" album, who covers the song "fame" like, honestly. Good guitarist though yeah, but not the best.
But this is vocalists, so anyhoo. |

James LaBrie.
Such a wide range of vocals and he always hits the right notes. Even live O.o

Mal is winning this thread big time.
Geddy Lee is an excellent vocalist as well. |
