Default My petition for Ultimate Drum Set Solo of Doom file

Hammy did it, so why can't I? So, a long time ago I submitted a file that got +'d by every judge, and generally positive reviews from peers. It made it to Tass, who then in turn said the file was perfectly fine, but the reason for not allowing the song in the game was:

Quote:

Judge's Reviews:

Kommisar:

Ultimate Drum Set Solo of Doom (stavie33) [+.]
m12: mirror the second roll and jack
the cymbal hits on their own in m29/m31 shouldn't be hands
yellow jumps in m40 should be purple
good file?

JX:

Ultimate Drum Set Solo of Doom 2.0 (stavie33) [+ / 6.5] (11)
audible, besides hand placement and sync at parts it's ok

Patashu:

OrangeInferno - Ultimate Drum Solo of Doom (+) 6.5/10
-jacks leading to the 2nd roll in m12 are a little much. should probably put the jacks on the other side
-duno about the hands if they're tolerated for the difficulty but they're fine i guess.
-m25 is an odd transition feels empty but fine i guess

Just to say, the file is better than most of the crap that got in that queue, if you don't believe me, I'll send it to you to check out, and the file, the drum solo is pretty sweet,

file is barely a vc at its hardest so hands and quads should be taken out

even thought this is a drum solo there is pr that needs to be incorporated when the tom toms change pitch and its repetative

if i were a judge i wouldnt accept this file because its boring and the song is horrible and its not even a good drum solo so sorru you dont have my support

Thanks :/

You write, and then PLAY a better drum solo. And from what JX told me, PR is fine, and the patterns fit the sheet music as best as could be done. Low VC at most? What? What do you know about a files difficulty? This is way harder than half the low FMO's, it's harder than Hajnal, Novo Mundo, and Choprite, all of which are FMO's, even JX put it as an FMO in the judging, you may know more about making files, but not about their difficulty /rant

Sorry, it's just that barely a VC is a beyond retarded statement.

What I don't get is these few things:

Only people on FFR have ever said it sucks (and considering some of the **** on here, why should we trust half of them?), but it got me into AYP and I won many music awards in my state competitions for composing and playing this solo. It takes more talent to play this than the drums in Pull me Under or YYZ. No, I'm not anywhere near (not even a thousandth) as good as Mike Portney or Niel Pert, but this is by no means a crappy or weak drum solo. If you don't like it, that's fine, but to say it's bad/crap is just not true when looking at it from a rhythmic/difficult point of view. I'm not sure how many of you actually play drums beyond rockband, but those who do will most likely back me up on this.

Robertsona back in the day said the file was very fun and better than many files accepted that batch, even JX and Patashu rated it 6.5, higher than the **** that is grind2, and the same as many files that got accepted such as Ivaltek and Half Symphony.

Patashu gave me +:

OrangeInferno - Ultimate Drum Solo of Doom (+) 6.5/10
-jacks leading to the 2nd roll in m12 are a little much. should probably put the jacks on the other side
-duno about the hands if they're tolerated for the difficulty but they're fine i guess.

pr may be fine by ffr standards but dont lower the bar on yourself at least go for the best you can and not the bare minimum. there is no way this file is harder than any of the fmos you listead except for choprite but thats only because choprite doesnt have long jacks. the only ONLY reason jx gave this file an fmo rating was because of the hands and quads because the jumpstream is really simple and the only thing that would give anyone trouble is the jacks and theyre right hand and only at 150bpm and what i ment by barely vc was that it isnt any harder than a high vc lol my bad there guess i shouldve worded that better.

the fact that you used an daw instead of recording yourself playing is what makes it sound so ****ty not so much the composition. and a 6.5 is a D+ good job ?_? like i said ffr has much much much lower standards in terms of file quality so dont get all happy because you got an accept with some fixes and an accept for a file thats going to be going into ffr.

lol you listened to robertsona

i will say it again. this version being made using a daw or some other audio production software is really ****ty and of poor quality. i do not play drums so i dont know how difficult this is to play or whether or not you're pulling all that competition **** out of your ass just to validate what you say. but i do know what sounds good and that drum solo how it is in the mp3 is not good

oh snap

btw I'm pretty sure the reason it's not being accepted is because the name suggests that the song isn't very serious

I'd love to meet the organization that gave a state-level award for composing a song with this name. seriously, give us some sources

finally, the reason hammy could make a petition is because hammy had a legit reason. you, quite frankly, don't.

This happened ages ago, why the hell are you bringing it up now? And even then, its FFR, its just about dead at this point why try and get a file in when it'll probably be gone soon. :\

resubmit it (with some improvement) when the batch opens and see what happens.

lol, that's not what I named it for the competition, I just named it personal drum set composition solo. This name was only for FFR purposes.

@ Patashu, it's under your name, go check, if not, then who judged it that time?

@ Dr. Tran, you're very right, I didn't want it in daw file format, but it was the easiest way to get somewhat good sound quality and use the file for FFR purposes, I don't have an electronic drum set, I have a percussion one, so it's hard to record (at least I don't have a recorded that captures good sound quality. Sorry if I sounded pissed, you are pretty right about a lot of stuff, I still think though that it's harder than Novo Mundo and Choprite...

I'm still not convinced that this composition is worth a state-award

I highly doubt it
