Quit making alts, ppl!

I have an alt to see how many songs I can sightread AAA without messing up. Right now I'm at 56.

Long ago, I could never actually get a MP game on this account, so I had some low level alts for that.

I was thinking the exact opposite. The people most affected are those without a ton of AAAs but they're trying to improve their ranks the best they can. If some alt goes and sups some of my scores, my avrank only increases by like .4 after all is said and done. Someone else who doesn't have over 700 AAAs is suffering the most because all the non-AAA ranks are just getting higher and higher (See: CIA Rave, Mercury Lamp).

@Remedy: It's not a sightread if you already played it 15 times on your remederp account.

Then we'll say it's for how many AAAs I can get in a row without messing up. Either way I'm practising consistency. It's easier to go through all the songs on an account with none of the counters ingame rather than on remederp where it's all AAAs already and I'm less inclined to play.

And really, the impact of alts isn't that huge. Well at least when ap went and blacklisted the accounts with bs scores, my avrank improved by a whopping .02. It really isn't that significant. I can't imagine there are much more alts than random botted scores. Think about it. 100 ranks lowered by alts is a whole 0.1168 added to your avrank. Big whoop. Especially when your avrank is ~16 (that's yours), it's fairly easy to improve your ranks by 100. And when you have a low avrank say around 2, most of the songs the alts are AAAing you'll already have AAA'd, and even if it isn't something you AAA'd already, it would be only a couple scores, affecting your avrank by a very very small amount.

tldr; alts really don't affect you that much

If you read the white text in the OP, you would see that I didn't make this thread because it's a personal concern. I know that alts aren't effecting my avrank a whole lot personally, but it's the inflation of scores that bothers me in regards to people who can't quite AAA 8s and 9s yet.

I really don't see why it's such a big deal...the number of people that make alts that are going to read this is quite small, honestly. The majority of people with duplicate accounts are those that have only half an interest in this game and forget their password after a while so they have to make a new account. There are exponentially more of those than there are of good players making alts..

7th account reporting in. With alt accounts, it's incredibly easy to easy to see how much you've improved over the years by just looking at the level ranks for those accounts.

I made another profile only to experiment with it. I put a picture of my fine looking friend as the avatar. I wanted to see the friend requests, thumbs up, and comments she would receive. She received more in those three fields in a week than I did in two years. Kind of tilting..but obvious.

It really won't fix the problem at all. Almost nobody with alts that are relevently causing a problem would ever avail themselves of this option.

As to the claim that it's actually the mid-range players most effected by this, I'll point out that you improve your rank on the song far more by reducing your score by one good when your rank is in the 5000-2000 range than you ever do by reducing it by one good if you're in the top 200 on the song.

The people doing most of the complaining are the people who care the most about their avrank, which are the people with the better avranks on the site, which are the people who are already top300 on basically every song. Only people ranking that high or better are affecting their ranks in the slightest.
