Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
This is an epic election. I really can't wait to see who wins. But I really don't know which is stronger in this country...racism or sexism. I just hope people vote for the right reasons.

Trying to make me sound like a misogynist - cool.
I find nothing wrong in saying that a majority of women are more concerned with health care, education and the environment in modern day politics. There is nothing sexist about this statement at all. It's just the truth. |

Isn't Hillary old enough to have gone through menopause already?

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
As a liberal, and a person with a freaking brain, this election makes me cringe.
Hillary has voted with with George Bush on just about every major issue put forth during her tenure in Congress. She touts her experience when the only real experience she had was the colossal failure of her health care plan. Also, she makes everyone to the right of the fence rally behind whoever the conservatives will put forth. She'll make 51% of the country vote Not Hillary in '08. Obama doesn't know anyone or anything. No, really. He can have all the good intentions in the world but in the end he doesn't know what he's talking about. Funny story - when I was on the executive board for the college dems back when I was in college at Northwestern, one of the speakers we had was James Carville (ragin' cajun anybody?). This event was in 2005 right after Obama was elected into office and since NU is in Illinois, and Obama was going to speak for the senior class at graduation, he was a hot issue. I asked Mr. Carville if he thought that Senator Obama was a viable presidential candidate for '08. He laughed his ass off. I was really rooting for John Edwards (another guy we got to speak at NU, this time early in 2006). But in the end he didn't have the star power of these two. Honestly, the only person left in this race that would be any sort of improvement for this country would be Ron Paul, even if I disagree with some of his libertarian views on education, health care, and the environment. I would say McCain would at least be an improvement, but the guy is 71 years old. Who knows if he'll even live out his term in office, much less a second. That and he really doesn't seem to take a definitive stance on any issue, and he really doesn't know jack about the economy even though he's gotten really good at fooling the public into thinking he does. I can't imagine who I'm going to vote for come November. Ugh.

The funniest thing about this thread is that it assumes the Democrats are going to win.
Just saying. There's an entire other political party they have to beat, guys.

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
If McCain gets elected, I wouldn't be surprised if he died in office at all. Good point, Chaz.
Albeit, he is the last Republican candidate I would vote for anyways. Voted for Romney in the primary here in California. :\ |

I don't find it misogynistic as much as what I would expect a group of white republican males discussing politics would casually spew in jest - oh wait. Anyway, there is a very very large difference in the above statement and your original statment, and unfortunately it rubbed me the wrong way. I have a feeling this is just going to go in circles. I withdraw from the argument that I chose to start.

tonight is the night that barack obama won the presidency he won states and he won delegates, he probably won gore/edwards/richardson, and it's quite possible that he could sweep all 10 states between now and 3/4 |

I'm not voting for someone that's going to take money out of my pocket. I'm poor enough as it is. Liberal economy practices frighten me to an extreme.

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
It's just fiscal vs. monetary policy. They both do the same thing in the end. You can make the money worth less or you can just take the money leaving it at the same value, it accomplishes the same thing.

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
It's nice to know that in the wake of Bush/Clinton/Bush, all you need to do to become president is yell the word "CHANGE" long enough and loud enough.
The word means nothing without a context that Obama has -seriously- failed to provide. If you actually look in depth into their platforms, Obama and Clinton are virtually identical. They disagree on pretty much -NO- major issues, and their disagreements on minor issues are just that, minor. The strongest benefit to an Obamarama democratic nomination is that he has the youth and vigor to tackle the very large problems he would inherit from the Bush Administration. But don't think that just because he's obsessed with saying 'CHANGE!!!' at every single opportunity that the changes he's looking to make are very far at all out of line with the changes that each and every democratic party nominee want to make. |

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
as opposed to the other candidates who are either out of their ****ing minds or whore the same exact saying? Everyone's looking for change, well, you look at voting records and policy stance to figure that out, instead of acting like a lazy **** letting the candidates force feed it to you. The whole change thing works, because Americans are lazy. That's why Ron Paul's little death cry before things became serious helped him raise a sizeable amount of money. (and the internet)
Also, Clinton's platform IS very close to Obama's, but her tactics are underhanded (see nevada) and her associations with big business are unnerving. (see walmart) Everyone is whoring change, even Romney, except maybe Huckabee, because there's no changin' the bible. |

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
Obama says you should pick him because he's whoring change
Everyone is whoring change Obama's Platform == Everyone else's platform So, it makes no sense to pick Obama because of change. |

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
Hilary Clinton wants to ban video game violence. She loses, because just about every game but like tetris and some random pong copy has violence. Look at mario, doesn't look like it, but he stomps the heck out of mushrooms, and leaves their bloody corpses behind. Obama should win, down with Hilary (no offense, I don't want her dead, but I dont want her to be president).

Re: Hillary Clinton or Obama?
I have seen some sickening things from politics this year. Nationalized healthcare is the worst idea ever. The money to pay for nationalized healthcare comes directly from the taxpayer's pocket. This stimulus package has a possibility of being declined because it doesn't include illegal immigrants, who by the way don't pay taxes.
I have yet to see promising things from this years candidates, and Obama hasn't even officially announced what he plans to do. He keeps talking change, but as far as we know, change means replacing the US dollar with the US skittle. But, change could also be a good thing for a country with it's fate in the air. If Hillary is elected, I'm moving to Amsterdam. |
