Loot 2.0 seems like it'd be terrible update when ROS comes out. They basically killed the entire point of highest level play by making it impossible to trade. It's become 'oh look I have this legendary item, but I can't do anything with it because AH is gone and trade is gone unless they were in game with me."

So the top tier drops from the top tier challenges are, unlike WoW's "Only trade with people who were there, and otherwise, only this one character can use it" a much more friendly and generous "Only trade with people who were there, and they, along with you, can use this item for any character you ever make forever."

Diablo 3 is becoming more like Diablo 2, a hugely successful and popular game, only making a lot of the really absurd grinding much easier and better...what's the point?

Seems like their goal is to make it fun to play with friends, but not have any sort of community trading aspect whatsoever.

Which I guess is okay because the Diablo 3 "community" is shit (what little of it there is) so focusing on a different fun aspect makes sense.

I'm saying this all in comparison to how Diablo 2 worked, anyway.

The only purpose of the auction house was the minuscule chance you got a legendary or rare drop that was worth enough real money to want to sell.

Diablo has and will always be about playing with friends and handling all your gearing internally.
