Re: 1.0X Speed
I play screencut, I'm just afraid of change. I personally think 1.0 is fine as long as you have the right screencut.

Re: 1.0X Speed
Lol.
I never used speedmods, 1x screencut ftw. To me, 1x is better, because you get to keep your framerate, you learn the timing of 1x and you pretty much win FFR. I haven't played in well over a year and still have top 10 scores on some of the hardest songs in the game. All with 1x...it's well worth getting used to. |

Re: 1.0X Speed
I can't read 1x for the life of me, no matter how much screencut I use.

Re: 1.0X Speed
This. I remember just learning about screencutting before there were speedmods, but when I tried it, I still struggled with it. Unless it was a difficulty 5 or below, it was still very difficult to PA, sometimes even FC.

Re: 1.0X Speed
Before speed mods I was at 1.0X like everyone else. When they were released, within a few days I was up to 1.25X, a few more 1.5X. But I was stuck there until I got 1.65X. Then soon after that I went to 1.75X, and then 1.875X, and now I'm up to 2X. My PA has improved soooooo much after each speed jump. You just need to get used to it thats all.

Re: 1.0X Speed
all my scores are 1x screencut... and Guru... my PA has gotten a ton better since we played in MP. i hadn't played in 6+ months, and it took a week or so to get my accuracy back.
but, yeah. all the cool kids use 1x. like darkshark and myself.

Re: 1.0X Speed
and me? lol but seriously play whatever you want to, I've been all over the board, if you're not fast as you want to be, use speed mods, if you want better accuracy go with a slower one, and if all else fails you in the end, play SIU.

Re: 1.0X Speed
1.0x will give a hard time reading arrows, especially if it's some song like Pants. I play 2.0x because it feels more intense with arrows constantly speeding down (or up) the screen.

Re: 1.0X Speed
hmmm.. i finally figured out after some intense experimenting..
1.0X + major screencut is easier (for me at least) to PA songs that are below Guru/Masters 2.0X + a little screencut is easier for Guru songs (like Schmollbluk // CCCP) i think this is the case for most people who use 1.0X sometimes |

Re: 1.0X Speed
1x screen cut for me
It's not possible to get averages if the arrow is already passed the goal. But it is possible to hit an average before it hits the goal and also a good. Which means the placement you hit the arrow at to get an average is a thin sliver and the placement for a good would be double that sliver, lets put it that way, then the placement to hit a perfect would be the whole arrow which is practically the width of two goods placements. What I'm saying is that the ability to hit a good or average is stretched out longer when you're playing at 1 speed as opposed to any higher speed, if the placement of when u hit the arrow to achieve a perfect is greater than: the total areas of the average and good combined then that proves that speed mod just lessens that occurrence. Okay that sounded like a puzzle. It means that with speed mod it would be harder to hit a good or average than a perfect. OK now do you Catch me? If you don't, read it over, if you catch me you should understand that it all just comes down to being able to read the notes. And that being good at 1 speed would take more time than becoming good at speed mod. But gg im lazy and idc so 1 speed pce |

I was debating whether or not I should use 1.75x with screencut.

Re: 1.0X Speed
1.75X with screencut is worse than 2.0X normal
1.0X with screencut is better than 1.75X normal 1.0X is better for easier songs, 2.0X is better for Guru songs |
